Acer TravelMate 8000

Top performance and elegant design make this TravelMate a standout notebook.

Cutting-edge performance and an elegant design set apart the Acer TravelMate 8000, a lightweight business notebook with a DVI connection. It's priced like a top-shelf notebook, too, at $2299 not including application software.

Acer TravelMate 8000

The TravelMate 8000 is worth considering thanks to a lengthy feature list and good performance. But typing on it might require some getting use to.

Acer TravelMate 8000

Weighing inat 2.8kg the TravelMate 8000 is not only light but also has a very nice sleek design. Its chassis is 331.5 (W) x 280.7 (D) x 33.2 (H) mm which is a very nice size and is easy to carryaround. The good thing about the design is the absence of...

Acer TravelMate 8200 review

Acer TravelMate 8200 Editor's note: In our original review, we mistakenly stated the Acer TravelMate 8200's RAM speed. The laptop ships with 533MHz RAM. We regret the error. (3/15/06)

Screaming multimedia performance; slick design; cutting-edge components; ample connectors; integrated DV camera.

Lacks multimedia controls.

From a performance perspective, the fast Acer TravelMate 8200 does Intel's new Core Duo processor proud--but its battery life didn't see much of a boost.

Acer TravelMate 8000 review: Acer TravelMate 8000

Acer TravelMate 8000

More than five hours of battery life; Bluetooth and Wi-Fi; three-in-one flash-card reader; good performance.

AC adapter needs three-prong outlet; one-year warranty.

An excellent assortment of features and long battery life combine to make the Acer TravelMate 8000 a good thin-and-light, but it's a half step behind the best on performance.
