An attractive design and a good screen, but performance is flawed

Solid build ; Attractive styling ; Good price

Awful performance

Despite some likeable features, this laptop is entirely let down by its lack of power and performance

Advent 5511 review

From the Dixons Stores Group (DSG) that includes PC World and Currys comes a cut-price laptop: the Advent 5511 is a 15in notebook offering the latest Intel Centrino 2 chipset for under £500.

Looks great, battery very satisfactory. Good graphics card, runs Sims 3 no problem. Wifi picks up well. All in all a good model, and this is a recon.

Advent 5511 P73502G

Looked as good as new, not a mark on it. Packaged well for delivery and overall very happy. Bought it because the processor and the ram had been upgraded and the equivalant products were at least £100 more.

Only had windows office installed as a trial program, told I would have to buy the full program at a cost of @£70.
