Apple MacBook Air ( 11-inch, 128GB)

The current MacBook Air models differ from the 2013 versions in that the base model uses a 1.4GHz Intel Core i5, an upgrade from the previous 1.3GHz processor. More significantly, the 11.6-inch MacBook Air now starts at $899 (from $999) in the US and...

The new 11-inch MacBook Air is a little faster and runs even longer, thanks to a small spec bump. More importantly, the base price drops by $100 to $899.

The new CPU is a very minor upgrade over last year’s Air and the system is still lacking an SD card slot.

Apple’s 11-inch Air gets a CPU speed bump and a decent price cut over the already excellent 2013 version. If you have a recent model there's no need to upgrade, but for anyone else, it's now a better deal than ever.

Apple MacBook Air 11-inch (Mid 2013)

The Apple MacBook Air 11-inch (Mid-2013) ultraportable laptop is still compact, but now has double last year's battery life.

Great battery life. Thin. Light. Fourth Generation Intel Core processor. Bright screen. Nice multi-touch trackpad. Backlit keyboard. Thunderbolt port. Dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi.

1,366 by 768 resolution. No SD slot. No Ethernet nor HDMI.

At $999, the Apple MacBook Air 11-inch (Mid 2013) is an attractive ultraportable. Still, for only $100 more, you can get the 13-inch MacBook Air with almost the same components, but with a larger screen and almost five more hours of battery life. We...

11-inch MacBook Air review: living with Apple's smallest laptop

Note: be sure to read our 13-inch MacBook Air review for lots more on Apple's latest laptops. When my parents bought me my first laptop, I fought tooth and nail to spend the extra money and get...

Great battery life ; Stellar keyboard and trackpad ; Tiny

Screen is becoming outdated ; No SD card slot ; Smallish trackpad

Small is good, but bigger is better

Hands-on: The 11-inch MacBook Air's more tempting than ever

The little Air isn't a slouch at all. In fact, it looks like it's every bit the machine as its bigger 13-inch sibling.

The 2013 MacBook Air Review (11-inch)

When Apple launched the second generation MacBook Air in late 2010, I was definitely more interested in the 11” model. It was nearly as small as the iPad, but as a full notebook it was considerably more useful. At 2.3lbs, it wasn't even that much...

Review Apple MacBook Air 11 Mid 2013 i5 1.3 GHz 128 GB

A gentle breeze. Not a beat too late in the circannual rhythm, Ap

Compact and mobile build, weighs only about 1000 grams (~2.2 lbs); Aluminum unibody case very pleasant to the touch; USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt; Very good input devices; Very good application performance; Increased graphics performance; Very good battery...

No SD card slot; "Only" HD resolution; Almost zero expandability or accessibility for maintenance

Presumably the MacBook Air 13 in its newest edition. Same qualities and a somewhat larger screen for a reasonable fee. Otherwise just the Asus Zenbook UX21A and the Sony Vaio Pro 11, both of which are looking to draw in the same kinds of customers...

Review: 2014 MacBook Air (11-in)

At Gizmag, we often review brand spankin' new devices that sit on the cutting edge of technology. Other products we review are little more than incremental updates over their predecessors. And then there's the 2014 MacBook Air, a device that gives new...

, and I'd recommend that you hit that up after we're done here. Why? Well, because the only differences with this new model are a slightly faster processor (1.4 GHz to last year's 1.3 GHz) and a very welcome price drop.

Review: 2013 MacBook Air (11-inch)

Apple recently updated its MacBook Air line to include Intel's new much-touted Haswell processor. We decided to give the 11-inch model a whirl to see how the new processor affects its performance, and how well the laptop stacks up against previous...

If you’re already familiar with the MacBook Air – and since over five years have passed since the line was introduced, you probably are – then the physical difference between this latest 11-inch MacBook Air and those which immediately preceded it can...

Review: Review: Mid-2013 11-inch MacBook Air

Apple's new 11-inch MacBook Air builds on a winning formula

Fantastic battery life- Faster flash architecture- Much improved graphics performance- Wi-Fi 802.11ac connectivity- Excellent keyboard, trackpad- Better value

TN panel not a match for the PC competition- Third year with unchanged design- Relatively large bezel starting to look dated- No SD card slot

Review: Apple's new 11-inch MacBook Air (Mid-2013)

Apple unveiled the latest incarnation of its hot-selling MacBook Air lineup at WWDC 2013, taking somewhat of a gamble in concentrating on greatly extended battery life in lieu of a more conventional performance boost. But did that bet pay off?

Apple's 11-inch MacBook Air has always been a featherweight, giving up both the power and endurance of its slightly larger sibling for portability. The specs used to be such that the laptop was compared to the iPad, which out of the gate boasted long...
