The Asus Zenbook UX32A cuts both price and performance

This stripped-down Zenbook is missing the high-end components of other versions, and faces tough competition in its price range.

The ; is much less expensive than previous Asus ultrabooks, but keeps the same sharp design.

Saddled with last-gen components, the UX32A missed out on CPU and GPU improvements from Intel.

Asus makes some of the most full-featured ultrabooks available, but this stripped-down Zenbook UX32A version is missing those extras and faces tough competition in its price range.

Asus DB31 review:

The Asus Zenbook was one of the first entrants in the new ultrabook category when it launched in late 2011. We liked that original system, despite a few serious flaws, as the all-metal design marked it as a direct competitor to the MacBook Air .

"Good computer, but wifi bugs and power cord issues"

Would be great computer, but the parts aren't worth the hassle. Sent back twice in 6 months to repair Wifi. Signal reception is still weak. Touchpad is annoying when trying to type because it is jumpy. Power cord plug went out just before the one year...

Light, fast, good start-up times.

WiFi is poor. Sent back twice for repair within first 6 months.

"Good price,oversensitive touchpad,CHARGER PORT failures"

This laptop has great specs for the price. It is fast, light, and thin. However, it has 4 significant flaws. 1) The trackpad is overly sensitive. If your hands are near it (even some distance above), it will cause the mouse to jump around. 2) The cord...

Fast processor for the price, sleek design, thin, light, good sound.

Touchpad is too sensitive. If your hands get anywhere near it, it will cause your mouse to jump around.

"Great laptop for this price, occasional wifi problems."

A great computer for this price though I ultimately had to return it due to wifi problems. Recommend doing online search to see if the problem has been fixed at your time of purchase.

Thin, light, attractive design, good processing speed.

I had occasional wifi problems and could barely connect to my home network. Keyboard not that responsive/amenable to touch typing but functioned fine.
