Asus F50SV-A2 review: Asus F50SV-A2

Asus F50SV-A2

New Nvidia graphics processor; Blu-ray drive; solid construction.

Weak speakers for a multimedia notebook; uninspiring design; short battery life.

While it's a Blu-ray-equipped 16-inch laptop with good gaming muscle, the Asus F50SV-A2's design left us cold.

ASUS F50SV-A2 Review

The ASUS F50SV-A2 is a midrange gaming notebook that offers an Intel P8600 Core 2 Duo Processor and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 120M 1GB graphics card in a 16” shell. The notebook also offers a built-in Blu-ray drive for watching movies on the 16:9 display or...

Good performance ; System able to keep its cool under heavy CPU and GPU loads ; Nice design and build quality

Mediocre battery life ; Very high power consumption at idle

I really enjoyed the design and great build quality, which should allow the notebook to last until it is no longer fast enough to run the latest software. Overall I think a perfect change might be swapping the Blu-ray drive for a higher resolution...

Review of ASUS F50Sv A2 16-inch Laptop

The ASUS F50Sv A2 is definitely a pretty good laptop to use for gaming excitement and fun, and the 16-inch screen size is definitely a big plus while doing so, but the overall style is certainly not one that stands out in the crowd as being one to have...

ASUS F50GX, a bigger screen than a netbook for less than $1,500

Asus's model may not look like the bee's knees, but if you're after features, it's worth a look

It's slightly bulky, and the mixed patterns of the keyboard surround and trackpad create a slightly cheapening effect. The lid has a lot of flex in it, but despite our twisting and bending, it pleasingly revealed no warping of the screen. The rest of...

good choice

Run well, without much problems. Great gaming laptop with great video card. Keyboard does not leave finger prints like some other laptops

Battery life is only two hours with everything running at low settings, dvd drive is pretty loud sometimes when running a movie or cd. Comes with a lot of bloatware but can be easily removed

Very unhappy with laptop and customer service.

I recieved my laptop, was happy, but it freezes constantly during use. Once, it froze 7 times in less than 10 minutes, but typically not that often. I call customer support within 30 days, they are quick. I send in my laptop, explaining the issue and...

Good concept

Dead on Arrival. Technical Support/Repair are incompetent. Cannot fix issue. Claim they will not send me a replacement because deadline for DOA is over - through no fault of my own. So far, I'm stuck with a factory broken laptop and very little faith...

good bang for buck

This is a good laptop even tho i said so many cons, the pros outweigh them. I use this laptop 10-15 hours a day and still runs strong. I had problems right away with it but i contacted ASUS and they helped me fix my problems. Although i wish i could...

Just got this

I may only buy asus depending on the longivity of this product ;)

This laptop is really fast faster than my 2 year old mac book pro that's 2.53ghz as well. I can't wait to put windows 7 on it! The keyboard is really nice too the keys almost feel spring loaded in the 10key is also a plus. I only tried one game on it,...

Exclusion of e-sata port and the touch pad button is a little finicky it is a single button layout that you either click from the far left or the far right. I would just prefer them seperated
