ASUS G60Vx lappy smuggled out of the Peoples Republic of Gamers for in-depth review

Sure, it looks good enough on paper, but how does the new G60Vx gaming laptop from ASUS stack up in the real world? The kids at Bit-Tech have got their hands on this guy and have been cool enough to let us in on their findings. According to the ...

Asus G60VX-RBBX05 review: Asus G60VX-RBBX05

Asus G60VX-RBBX05

Affordable; excellent gaming performance; backlit keyboard and separate number pad.

Bulky body; poor battery life; screen isn't 1080p.

Packed with a great graphics card and good audio, but lacking Intel's latest Core i7 chip, the Asus G60VX-RBBX05 is a very solid all-around gaming solution for less than $1,000.

Review Asus G60VX Gaming Notebook

A Gamers' Dream? Asus shows courage for design and equips the G60

Futuristic design; Many connections; Very high performance; Stable turbo mode; Mouse and backpack included; Express Gate

Poor display lid stability; Slightly yielding keyboard; Fairly high noise development; Low battery life; Medium display brightness; Disappointing sound

Weaker, but cheaper gaming notebooks like the MSI GX623 or MSI GT628. Other efficient gaming notebooks under 1500 Euros like the MSI GT725 or the Asus G71GX.

Asus G60Vx notebook

Gaming laptops occupy a strange space in the market. Most hardcore PC gamers like to tweak and upgrade their machines, so opt for cheaper, upgradable desktop towers that they build themselves. More casual gaming fans make do with lower performance on...

Great keyboard, respectable performance

Low screen resolution, poor battery life

The Asus G60Vx is an acceptable series of compromises. The screen resolution has been cut so that the performance delivers. The speakers aren't amazing, but the keyboard is pretty good. The battery life is terrible, but things don't get too hot up top....

Asus ROG G60VX review

A new gaming laptop from Asus coincides with weather perfect for playing in the park. Should you take the ROG G60 outside?

A catchy design that's packed full of top components, but the screen and keyboard let it down

Asus G60Vx Gaming Laptop Review

We take a look at Asus' new Republic of Gamers laptop, the G60Vx, and find an interesting mix of the good, the bad and the not so ugly. Equipped with a GeForce GTX 260M and restrained styling, find out if this is a gaming laptop that we'd be prepared...

On paper, and in the tests, the G60Vx acquits itself pretty well. There's not much wrong with a 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM and a Blu-Ray drive, after all. Add in the quality keyboard and the not horrific styling and you might think it's a product well...

Runs really REALLY hot.

Good graphics card Decent processor Takes most games you throw at it out of the box on medium-high settings Fast (until it starts overheating)

Overheats constantly (forced shutdowns) Horrible battery life of approx. one hour (at least until it shorts out, then practically nothing) Wireless connections lock up constantly. Poorly constructed. (pieces fall off) Headphone jack switch is stuck

Great gaming laptop for low price

Replaced CPU grease prior to purchase with Artic Silver. Heavy, but I'm using it at home for the most part. I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS LAPTOP, EVEN WITH THE CONS!

Easy to access key parts for repair if needed, 2nd HDD slot is awesome, can handle every game I've thrown at it so far (Arkham Asylum, WoW, Just Cause 2) at max settings, great picture, very durable

Had to buy an external portable Altec Lansing speaker for $30 because the volume isn't that great. Really not a big deal. FINGERPRINT MAGNET! Also, battery life is only about 1 hr 15 minutes unplugged with the 6 cell, but hey, it's a desktop...
