Review Asus K70IC Notebook

Big performance. The Asus K70IC is a 17 inch multimedia notebook

Good Altec-Lansing loudspeakers; Dual-Core-Processor and dedicated graphics card; Attractive exterior; Cool

but not always quiet; display with only moderate quality; short battery life; heavy

Core2Duo processors are becoming increasingly rare, Core i3 and Core i5 processors are taking over. For those that can make due with a smaller display, the Asus K52JR would be fitting alternative by the same manufacturer, that also provides the new...

Asus K70IO review

Asus are offering decent performance, but is the price too high?

Decent performance ; Solid build and good use of ventilations system

You can get better-specced machines for less ; Battery life isn't great

An easy-to-recommend all-round option, but slightly let down by its keyboard

Bad repeated BSODs

Just want a resolution.

Not a bad computer when it is not BSOD. Also, when I actually have it in my possession. It spends more time at ASUS repair for them to reinstall the OS

Bad BSOD issues. No resolution. Poor Customer Service

Very Well Built Machine!

I recommend that you get this laptop before they stop selling it. May want to get Windows XP for older printers. Does included a restore disk for Windows 7 for both 32 and 64 bit versions if you want to format the hard drive into one partition.

This laptop is good for entertainment and is able to run many games without breaking a sweat. The computer is easy to use and well built. Good amount of ram and huge hard drive. Good sounds as well. The LCD screen is big and has very good detail

The problem that I found is the extra software that was installed on the computer did not need. The battery life is short between 1 hour and 30 minutes. Be warned that old printers may not work on Windows 7

ASUS K70AB-X2A NoteBook AMD Turion X2 RM-75(2.20GHz) 17.3" 4GB Memory 320GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570

The location of the touchpad feels off to me. Yes it is centered on the machine, but with the full keyboard, the feeling is that it is too far over. I may be crazy, but that has been the hardest thing to get accustomed to with this machine.

Large display, easy on the eyes. Feature packed for the price

Speakers leave a bit to be desired

Fairly Happy, but BSOD, and crackling!

I like the machine when it works right, but the few issues are big deals to me. I will be contacting ASUS support and taking full advantage of the warranty. Hopefully I will have good things to report on that experience.

Huge beautiful screen, works quite well when no BSOD. Runs fast. Surprisingly good battery life given the monster this machine is. Win 7 is very nice, but that's a given. Warranty seems amazing- gonna have to take advantage of it

BSOD!, worked well for the first 3-4 weeks or so then the BSODs starting happening at random times. Then more frequently. From what I have read online, this seems like it is a hardware issue that ASUS needs to take care of ; Crackling!- What on earth...

Great but...

I have an HP Pavillion DV9000 series I bought 2 years ago with roughly the same specs that runs circles around this piece even running Vista with only 2GB of Ram.ASUS...you really dropped the ball on this one! "I won't even go into the fact that while...

good system overall but

I bought this in Nov. '09 and had the constant BSODS for the first month till I flashed the BIOS to the new version and that solved the problem.Ok,everything is gravy right?Well it was up until 2 weeks ago when whenever I would burn a disk they would...

Its the little things...

Overall, great machine for the price. Especially if (like us) you want a laptop with a non-integrated video card. :)

You can read the specs and the other reviews for most of the technical information on this laptop. We had no BSOD or other booting issues ; worked fine out of the box and is relatively light on the bloatware. But what impresses me about this machine...

The touchpad is a little sensitive, but I'm getting used to it. The DVD tray button is very sensitive and I"m forever popping it open on accident. Annoying, but not a deal-breaker
