Top-tier performance for a slim laptop ; Solid keyboard and touchpad ; Bright, vibrant 144Hz screen ; Deals with heat exceptionally well

Display bezels are so out of style, Asus ; 2.5 hour battery life ; Heavier than competition (5.5 lbs vs. 4.4 lbs)

Between these three systems, buy the Asus. It may not be the most conventional or convenient laptop due to its cooling system, but it offers the best desktop-level gaming performance — and experience — for your laptop dollars.

Asus' latest gaming laptop powered by Intel's new six-core chips

With a new CPU, lower price and a much better touchpad, this is a slim gaming laptop that can, finally, work for almost anyone.

This second-gen version of the Asus Zephyrus keeps the inventive raised cooling vent, lowers the price, adds a new six-core Intel Core i7 CPU and fixes the poor touchpad placement in the original.

The fans still get quite loud, battery life is short, there's a thick screen bezel around the nontouch display, and there's no built-in Ethernet jack, which is important for downloading large game files.

Asus adds Intel's powerful new six-core Core i7 CPU to the slim Zephyrus gaming laptop, while fixing some of the original's design quirks and even lowering the price.

Really nice laptop

"After 20+ hours research of laptops in 1300-1800 range, I chose this laptop. I don't regret it. "

Brutally fast; simple design; great keyboard; great performance monitoring apps (asus); can run any game on high/ultra >60fps; amazing display - 144hz 1080p, nvidia g-sync; Plenty of RAM, plenty of storage; No heat issues; perfect for everyday use

Case can get smudged - not a problem really though; short battery life - made to be plugged in
