Asus Transformer Book T200TA-C1-BL

 

The Asus Transformer Book T200TA-C1-BL is a good detachable-hybrid tablet for just under $500. While most of its drawbacks are minor nits, there are other systems that give you more storage space and battery life, for the same price or less.

Light 2-in-1 detachable tablet. In-Plane Switching (IPS) screen. User-accessible SATA hard drive bay in dock. Ethernet port.

Only about 40GB free on solid-state drive (SSD). Speakers are a little soft. Micro HDMI and micro USB port. Mediocre battery life.

The Asus Transformer Book T200TA-C1-BL is a decent enough detachable-hybrid tablet for a reasonable price, but systems like the Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 (3147), our top pick for convertible-hybrid laptops, give you a lot more storage space...

I upgraded it to windows 10 and it flies. I added a 256GB SSD from newegg to the keyboard base and this thing flies. Who needs the surface?

Good mid-range unit

 

You can get more by spending more, but the "bang for your buck" ratio is in the consumer's favor with this device.

Pretty fast for web surfing and light gaming. Free update to Windows 10 with no issues. Battery life seems to be as advertised. Touchscreen and keyboard work well and are responsive.

Limited case options - had a tough time finding an acceptable case that would work well in both tablet and laptop modes.
