Review Asus VivoBook S300CA Subnotebook

Entry-level touch device. An elegant aluminium case, economic ULV hardware, long battery life - the VivoBook S300CA possesses many advantages of expensive ultrabooks, but is already available for under 600 Euros (~$787). As the icing on the cake, a...

Laptop with Issues

I think it could have been a good laptop if it was not damaged. I will attempt to replace, will keep everyone updated.

Over all laptop had a good feel, compact, nice screen. I did not have an opportunely to use it so i cant tell much about performance.

The corners of the laptop were bent and damaged. It did not look like it happened when laptop was shipped to me, it looks like a previews damage. The touch-pad also was bent and looked off center. I was not able to make the touch-pad work.

ASUS S300CA-BBI5T01

I replaced the hard drive with an SSD, improved performance dramatically. I reinstalled windows 8.1 from scratch to get rid of the bloatware. Drivers were a bit of a pain but entirely possible.

It's a pretty great balance between power and portability. Smaller than a laptop, but more powerful than a netbook. Battery life is pretty good. Touchscreen is cool, but not all that practical

Downgrading to windows 7 is possible, but not a great idea. There are a couple devices that just won't work in win7. Comes with a pretty lousy 5400rpm hard drive

Dead in less than 6 weeks

Seriously, I cannot believe how poorly this has been handled. This laptop cost me nearly $500, I have had it for less than 6 weeks with zero damage, and now it is completely and utterly dead and I am at a loss for whether or not it will ever work...

I really liked this laptop. It was lightweight, sleek, very fast for the amount I paid for it, and the touchscreen was very sensitive. I really had no complaints, until it randomly died after only having the product for 6 weeks

I literally bought this laptop less than 6 weeks ago and it is dead. I did not damage it in any way--to the contrary, it was treated very gently and with great care given that I really liked it and could not afford to buy another computer ; I bought...

Great Computer but BEWARE

I almost returned the computer because of the junk on it. Now that it's cleaned up and the bad apps and software are removed it's a great computer.

The computer is great. Exactly as advertised and an excellent buy for the hardware. You just have to clean up the junk that's loaded on it. Be prepared that you will spend some time cleaning it up because you can't shut down the junk and the pops are...

It came loaded with junk software and programs. Lots of pop ups and lots of junk stuff. It took hours for my son (who is a software engineer) to clean it up. When I told him what was going on and that I couldn't use it because of the junk. . . he...
