An underwhelming laptop, but a decent software suite is included to get you started

Good bundled software ; HDMI ; Good keyboard ; Decent basic performance ; Usability

Limited graphics power ; Battery life ; Portability

A decent laptop for the money, but if you are looking for power then we would look elsewhere

Compaq Presario CQ61-217

 

HDMI port. Excellent value for the price.

Hot air vent on left-hand side. 100Mb Ethernet and 802.11g only, no Bluetooth.

The Compaq Presario CQ61-217 adds a little bit of extra quality to the sub-AU$1000 market, though sacrifices on its network capability. For AU$799 though, it's a steal, and if you're not concerned by some of the lacking components, this one's a good buy.

Good pc for the price

Arrives with a ton of spam software pre loaded already killing the small amount of available memory. 2gb of ram is not much specially when windows 7 is using over 1 gb. mouse pad and buttons feel like very cheap plastic. A ram upgrade is a MUST

DON"T BUY RECERTS

 

As a one time gratuity Newegg decided to refund my purchase THIS ONE TIME. So make sure they don't send you defective merchandise because you might get stuck with it next time.

Um, what?

 

No other thoughts besides that you can play very memory-consuming games such as Sims 3. You can run photoshop and everything on this computer and that is a huge plus for digital artists like me.

Very fast, a sufficient amount of RAM and a good hard drive. Very quiet, wireless works, ethernet works, can still connect to home router if I want to go outside in the spring. Sound is amazing. Screen resolution is absolutely terrific. Very light....

But with one problem ; After one month of usage, I turned it on just today and it made a loud buzzing sound, and it stopped when I shook it. I believe my fan is broken and instead of sending it back to newegg, I am bringing it to get it fixed by a...

Broken fan

 

If you want this product, then buy the warranty because there is nothing you can do if you open it and see that it's messed up.

Low Price

When I first turned it on, the fan made a really laud sound. The sound wasn't caused by it working too hard, but it was caused because it was broken. It took me 4 hours to open it up and replace it. Obviously whoever checked this computer knew about...

GREAT DEAL!

 

I was a little hesitant about buying this reconditioned; thinking it would be scuffed up or something, but this thing came looking like it was right out of the box brand spanking new.

Overall appearance. Packaging. Clean. Durable exterior. Aluminum keyboard accent. Large key board. Monitor. Fast! PRICE!!!!!!!!! Paid $299 for it! Wish I had about $600 more bucks or I'd buy 2 more of them

Other than the fact that it wasn't free.....no complaints here
