Alienware M17

A look befitting the Caped Crusader and ATI's CrossFireX technology combine to make the Alienware M17 a terrific bargain.

Subtle, but effective, design. Big screen with the highest resolution available. Amazing price. Illuminated keyboard. ATI's CrossFireX technology delivers excellent 3D performance scores. A strong multimedia feature set.

AC adapter weighs close to 3 pounds. Noisy mouse buttons. Hulking frame.

Alienware M17 review: Alienware M17

Alienware M17

Decent mix of price and performance; optional quad-core CPUs and dual ATI GPUs.

Backtracks to an older, clunkier Alienware design; can get very pricey with the right options.

Alienware is trying to have it both ways with the new M17, combining a relatively low starting price with some very pricey upgrades, including quad-core CPUs and ATI CrossFireX video cards. Our configuration wasn't very exciting, but turned in capable...

Review Alienware M17 Gaming Notebook

I only want to play… Alienware always offers high performance har

Matt, Fingerprint unsusceptible surface; Extensive port equipment; Display with a good color presentation and viewing angles; Individual configuration possible; First class gaming and application performance; Minor heating of the chassis

Heavy weight; Extension of warranty is expensive; Keyboard is not very ergonomic; Barely useable battery life

The gaming device outshines most other notebooks with a power consumption of a maximum of up to 180W, but this value is relativized when compared to desktop systems. That is why the battery life of approx. 1.5 hours is not really surprising. In a...

Review: Alienware M17 gaming laptop

In the past we have looked at both the Alienware m15x and the m17x gaming notebooks. These are two gaming systems, one 15-inch and the other 17-inch, with relatively low starting prices ($1099 and $1499) and NVIDIA graphics. After those two were...

Ardjuna takes a look at the first mobile quad-core notebook we've seen. Can this and the M17's ATI CrossFire X graphics deliver gaming nirvana?

Alienware M17-R1 review

Alienware's M17 is a great laptop with impressive performance, but not the most powerful on offer

CrossFireX graphics performance ; DDR3 RAM for quick response ; Quad-core processing ; Great chassis

A gaming machine could always use more RAM...

Outstanding comfort and great performance from this superb machine

Beam us up Scotty! The Alienware M17 is Alienware's beefiest, most massivest gaming laptop. It's got everything you could need in a gaming desktop, but none of the wires. The base version of the 17 inch laptop comes with 160GB of hard drive, 2 gigs of...
