Service and support

Dell Inspiron 1150 Home

Very inexpensive; good performance; excellent battery life; includes wireless connectivity.

Big and heavy; meager memory; lacks FireWire and video-out ports.

A decent entry-level system, Dell's Inspiron 1150 offers good battery life and Wi-Fi, but it lacks features that advanced users will not want to live without.

Dell Inspiron 1150

The Dell Inspiron 1150 has decent performance and respectable components, but it's the outstanding battery life that makes this notebook worth a second glance.

Dell Inspiron 1150

Dell's budget notebook has exemplary battery life, and is recommended as long as you can look past its rather plain styling and heavy weight.

Great battery life

Bulky design

With prices starting at AU$1598 (that's for the Celeron version, mind you; our test system currently costs AU$1,798.50), the 1150 is one of the best budget notebooks on the market today. We anxiously await other vendor's responses to its low-priced...

First Look: Dell Inspiron 1150

Dell's latest entry-level Inspiron offers a 2.4GHz Celeron processor, 256MB of DDR memory and a 14.1-inch XGA screen in a sub-AU$1,500 package.

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Acceptable

Cheap. Huge screen for the price (with a caveat). Sufficiently equipped for basic needs, including a decent array of ports. Non-frills. Quiet and reasonably cool operation. Pretty attractive considering the price. Came with a Windows 7 DVD, rather than...

3GB? Really? Construction is a little flimsy. Screen is too big for the resolution...the pixels are enormous. No 5ghz WiFi support

Perfect

The system is fast and sleek. I absolutely love it, the system is replacing another laptop. After doing some research this system can actually support 16GB of RAM. This is a must have and the price is especially nice on other website a system like this...
