Dell Inspiron 13z review: Dell Inspiron 13z

Dell's re-imagined Inspiron line continues to push the boundaries of what one can expect from this long-standing mainstream/budget laptop family. For years, an Inspiron was a bulky plastic box designed to offer competent computing at a reasonable...

The Dell Inspiron 13z is a slim, low-cost 13-inch laptop with performance to match more-expensive systems.

The plastic body feels cheap, as do the ports flaps and small touch pad.

With the same CPU as you find in ultrabooks that cost a lot more, the Dell Inspiron 13z is a budget laptop that holds its head up high.

Annoying Port Covers ; Below Average Sound System ; Lackluster Fan ; The Dell Inspiron 13z is a basic 13-inch laptop with good looks and acceptable performance.

Dell Inspiron 13z

While we had a few design quibbles and we'd highly recommend getting the battery upgrade, the Inspiron 13z offers exceptional value.

Great value, HDMI output

Some build and design issues, Poor battery life if you don't upgrade

Dell Inspiron 13z

The Dell Inspiron 13z is a stylish looking ultraportable, with a clear design identity and reasonable price. Though not quite an ultrabook thanks to a few unchecked boxes on Intel's specification list—it's a tad too thick, and it lacks the flash cache...

Dell Inspiron 13z (5323)

In its Core i3 incarnation, the Inspiron 13z nicely slots into the role of throw-about, entry level laptop, perfect for those who really just want to do a bit of web browsing, watch movies and do office-like tasks.

What you get for the price is excellent ; Good battery life for a cheap laptop

Annoying flaps on every port that you'll just want to tear off ; Design makes it seem like a toy ; Speakers aren't great
