Dell Inspiron 1764-5955IBU

 

With its Core i5 processor and ample screen real estate, the Dell Inspiron 1764-5595IBU offers an easy transition from desktop to laptop.

Core i5 processor is speedy. Great for bargain hunters. Numeric keypad included. Big screen. Excellent performance scores.

Small battery means mediocre battery life. No discrete graphics.

Bad qualitycontrol

 

I bought one of these at Best Buy when my last laptop died and I needed a replacement in a day. It was a new model,which may have had something to with problems, but they continue.

Breaks a lot. Mobo died within a few weeks. Replaced under warranty. Then, when updating BIOS that Dell had posted, it froze up and had to be sent back again. That BIOS version later dissappeared from the Dell site. Later I noticed one of the usb...

Good bang for buck

 

Overall a good machine, I don't regret buying it.

It was considerably cheaper than anywhere else at the time I bought it ($549.99)

Battery life is nothing to write home about, one charge lasts about 1.5-2 hours. No CAPS light on key or elsewhere, only way to tell status is by checking output
