Dell Latitude D420

Ultralight yet sturdy enough for regular business use, the Dell Latitude D420 combines the best qualities of Dell's last two ultraportables, while adding some extra features into the mix.

Feather-light chassis. Excellent battery life. Integrated EV-DO. Dual pointing devices.

The ultra-low-voltage processor is not as powerful as its standard-voltage Core Duo counterparts. External optical-drive component.

Dell Latitude D420 review: Dell Latitude D420

Dell's business-minded Latitude notebooks have always been more about function than form, but the Latitude D420 manages to pack some decent specs into a package that is both small and attractive, making this ultraportable the smallest laptop Dell...

Slim, lightweight design; full-size keyboard; Wi-Fi Catcher works even when system is powered off.

High native resolution means tiny type; only one CPU choice.

Dell's smallest business laptop, the Latitude D420 manages to combine decent specs with a convenient form factor, even if it's not all that configurable.

Dell Latitude D420 ultraportable

When the Latitude X1 was first introduced, it didn't resemble any of the other models in the Latitude line. In fact, it was a rebranded Samsung laptop that was incompatible with the Latitude line's peripherals, including the docking solution. With the...

The Dell Latitude D420 is the convergence of the Latitude X1 and the D410, and with it, you get more battery life and an integrated cellular modem in a system that (unlike the X1) looks and feels like other Latitudes.

Review Dell Latitude D420 Notebook

Minimalist. The Dell D420 is one of the smallest and most mobile ...

Compact size and light, Robust and high-quality materials, 4 USB ports, Spacious keyboard, Matt display with good resolution, Very low noise emissions, Passable battery runtime (9 cells battery)

Moderate number of ports (except: USB), Touch pad and track point need familiarization, Vertical stability to the vantage point of the display, Moderate performance, Partly high temperature increase

Music sounds tinny and low. In order to enjoy music, we definitely recommend the use of a headset

Dell Latitude D420 with Core Duo and Windows Vista Review

As a college student portability is extremely important to me. I purchased a Dell Latitude X1 in March 2006 with the intention of carrying it around frequently. The X1 was a great notebook that is extremely light and small. However, the 1.1GHz Pentium...

Fast ; Light weight at 3.0lbs with 4cell battery and 3.2lbs with 6cell ; Good battery life ; Widescreen matte LCD ; Lots of wireless options ; Excellent MediaBase and compatible with Latitude Docks

Runs hot ; A bit noisy with fan running at max ; Slow 4200rpm HDD ; Placement of vent on right side of notebook ; No internal optical drive

The Dell Latitude D420 is a great notebook for those who want an ultraportable design without sacrificing computing power. The build quality of this notebook is excellent and the price very competitive. Despite some design flaws, notably the location...

Dell Latitude D420

Liam (below) doubts it'll run Win 7....well, I'm busy running Win 8.1 on one of these. Buy one off ebay for £40, add a 1.8inch SSD ZIF drive (Runcore), Windows 8.1 and it flies. No need to spend £500+ on something new, this is all you need.
