Dell Vostro 1220

At first glance, the Vostro 1220 looks like an ultraportable notebook that was born from Dell's consumer range. But instead Dell has created its own little niche, targeting the more fashion-conscious business user on a budget.

Lightweight, Internal DVD burner

Build quality, 802.11n is optional, Poor quality WLED screen

Dell Vostro 1220 laptop

An ultraportable 12in Dell laptop aimed at business users

Well priced, built-in optical drive, comfortable to use, good battery life

Build quality of the screen and chassis is a little weak, 'drag lock' enabled by default

If you want a small laptop but yearn for more performance than a netbook can provide, the Dell Vostro 1220 is an excellent option. It's a fully featured 12.1in laptop with good speed and battery life. Its build quality isn't great, but the price is right.

Vostro 1220 had a lot of potential, but has been letdown by its below average build quality — something that should be a high priority, especially for an ultraportable notebook.

Dell's Vostro 1220 business notebook is excellent value for under $1000

The Vostro may look like a netbook to the inexperienced eye, but its more powerful processor gives it more flexibility and speed

Love my Vostro

I bought this Vostro for my weekly visits to Starbucks. Can you believe they have free interweb? That and the fact the half double decaf latte's are aamzing....those vanilla shots get me everytime. Anyhoo...My Vostro is rad!

NOT exactly 1.5kg!

This is a great laptop but its not exactly 1.5kg or less as Dell says on its website. I had a chance to play with this laptop for a few days, dont get me wrong i think this is a great laptop but i think Dell could have design it a little better by...
