Everex StepNote SA2053T

The Everex StepNote SA2053T has hideous battery life, but at $899 (as of 6/6/07), it costs half as much as most ultraportables. It also looks good and handles e-mail and Web applications just fine.

Affordable ultraportable, Good overall design

Terrible battery life, No bundled software

If you can tolerate the short battery life, this inexpensive ultraportable is a super choice.

Great Laptop

Overall, it was well worth the money. I'm waiting for my warranty to run out, so I can pull the laptop apart and paint it blue.

Small size, battery lasts quite a while, and pretty quiet. It hasn't had any stability issues, bad pixels, and it barely warms up ; It's quite powerful for regular work, but don't expect to game on this ; You get 2 batteries with it, but the lower...

USB ports are on the right side, which is a pretty poor location ; The card reader is a bit deep. When putting a sony memory stick in, it sits flush with the laptop. Minor inconvience when taking the stick out ; Has Vista Home Premium with Aero...

Great Product

I was a little weary at first since I had never heard of Everex, but I feel this laptop was a good choice. I have to say, Vista is really good visually, but sucks as a whole. It uses way too much resources if you do not make any changes to the visual...

Small, somewhat lightweight, extended life battery works for close to 4 hours, comes with spare battery (30-60 min life), wireless works really well, preinstalled windows vista

The case feels a bit flimsy. When I went to open it (after having opened and closed it hundreds of times) the plastic that holds the display in place popped out. I quickly pushed it back in, and it was fine. I'm sure I used too much force, but still a...

Nice Laptop

I bought mine from another retailed. The model I got was slightly different, AMD X2 processor, and up to 2 gigs of ram!! New Egg should stock this model instead if available, is near same price, but doesn't come with 2 batteries.

This laptop rocks my socks off for the price. You can't beat it. There isn't anything comprable in weight and size for anywhere near this price

Small Keys, but not a big deal you get used to it after a day or two

Nice laptop for a good price

Instead of adding more ram to support vista. I load XP instead. It works great, you can get all the drivers from everex web site. not to mention, xp supports way more software than vista.

It's small and cheap compare to other brands

As many have mentioned it only has one memory slot. And the spec. on the offical web site states the max. memory support is 1GB

Well worth it

Definitely worth it. There are no other ultra-portables in this price range, and for being the lowest priced ultra-portable it doesn't disappoint. The extra battery just sweetens an already great deal.

This laptop is very portable. It gets a little warm on your lap, but not to any horrible extent ; Battery life is amazing. I have put in the 6 cell battery and have been averaging a 4 to 4 and half hour battery life ; The specs of this laptop are good...

Not great for new games. Haven't even bothered trying them on it. But, if you like to play older games you will have no issues as it will run them like a charm ; The battery is a little difficult to get out when you want to exchange it with the other...

Very Portable

Took this on an overseas trip. Flew economy and this Laptop fits well on the small service table even with the seat in front set back. The 6cell battery gave me 2.5 hours exactly with wireless turned off and could of just put the smaller 3cell battery...

Waiting for issues. Vista is just not that great an OS but atleast this came with home premium wich is a bit above basic. Hardware has been holding up USB ports all clustered to the right sometimes interferes with using a mouse

Great... mostly

For the price I don't think it's possible to find a better ultraportable laptop, but you should be warned that, to a degree, you do get what you pay for. The components are all perfectly adequate but nothing exceptional, the build quality is OK but not...

You have probably never heard of Everex but that shouldn't stop you from considering their computers. After all, pretty much every laptop in the world is built in a factory in China somewhere, and I've seen the exact same base system selling under...

Construction feels a little flimsy. The screen, in particular, seems to be made of plastic and will warp back and forth a little if you try to tweak it. Additionally, when you close the lid, you can press down on the top and feel it bending inwards. I...

Awesome

I have only had it a few hours and love it. Newegg's service of course is great as always for about the past 4 years I have used them. You must buy if you don't care about gaming and you want a small portable system.

Great buy, if you are looking for something small, sturdy, and fast look no further. The quality is superb the pictures on here don't do it justice

I highly recommend this product

All in all this is the best deal for an ultra portable laptop, I would still choose this over any other brand, it has good components and feels sturdy, if you need a ultra portable laptop this is a must have!!! It may not have the fastest processor or...

Price is awesome, very light and well built, 2 batteries, very smooth running out of the box, Was able to put a 2gb stick of ram and now it runs even better

Having only 1 ram slot is a bummer but not a huge deal since I was able to thow a 2gb stick in, the dvd drive in mine is a lil noisy when installing software but nice and quiet while watching dvd's
