Review MSI EX625 Notebook

MSI showed some good intuition and in the Q1 of 2009 brought into ...

High performance ; Quality and brightness of the images ; Lightweight ; Not too noisy ; Low heat emissions

Setup and characteristics of the keyboard ; Viewing angles of the screen ; Case sensitive to dirt

MSI showed some good intuition when they added numerous notebooks with potent GPUs to their range in the first quarter of 2009. The MSI EX625 was the first laptop with ATI's 4600 series graphics card available on the European market. After reviewing...

Best gaming notebook for your buck.

Regardless of the cons I chose to give this notebook 5 eggs because of it's sheer value. A quality notebook for a low price. Can't beat that.

This is by far the best gaming laptop I've seen for such a cheap price. There's only a handful of mobile graphics cards faster than the HD4670, and they're all in laptops twice the price or more. The laptop itself has nice big keys, and the screen is...

It comes installed with 32bit Vista, which is perplexing. This is my only major complaint about the entire thing. The OEM key included with the system will not work with 64bit, MSI may be willing to assist with a new key, I didn't waste the time and...

amazing

It'd be good to know if others have the same problems with Crysis, X-men, and GTA IV. Please post whether you had the same problem or did not have any problem at all with these games.

The best performance that you can get with the money spent. I've tested so many games: l4d, Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Assassin's Creed, Velvet Assassin, COD 4/5, Devil May Cry 4, Far Cry2, GRID, Prince of Persia, NFS Undercover, Prototype, Terminator,...

As mentioned, CPU is the bottle neck ; The biggest problem that I had was that when I ran Crysis, X-men origin, and GTA IV, the laptop freezes after 2~3 mins. Not sure it happens only to my laptop but the Radeon HD 4670 seemed to have problem with...

Great Deal

It really is a great deal. Its fast, it looks cool, has lots of little things you don't really need but are nice to have (bluetooth, fingerprint scanner, webcam, etc.) It has a few small problems (and maybe one big one depending on whether or not I...

This computer was a gift I got for graduation, so I picked it out based on how well it would be able to do stuff not only for now but for the next few years while I'm at college. So far, it has exceeded all my expectations. The graphics card is great...

The keyboard, as everyone has said, is a little funky. I have found myself hitting the Fn key when I try to hit CTRL a lot, and I make a few more typing errors when I type because of how scrunched up everything is. I personally would have rather had a...

Uber cool

Best notebook for the price on the market right now. Combo of CPU/GPU puts it solidly in play with all modern software. mSI makes solid MB's and this seems is a good foray into the notebook market.

Crazy lightweight, monster video card, decent and upgradable processor, 4gigs o' mem. 16" widescreen. Decent sized 320gig drive

A little glossy. Control key and Fn key are transposed

Thoughts from a laptop n00b

This is my first laptop ever. I was very sketch to buy from MSI because I have never heard of it. The reason why I purchased it is (as lame as this is) because I wanted to play the Sims 3 and my piece of a desktop couldn't handle it. This computer...

Great graphics card. That's one of the main reasons I purchased this. Most other namebrand computers that come around this price range don't have nearly as good as a graphics card. I have also seen some computers with lower end class 2 graphics cards...

The keyboard setting (switch between fn and ctrl) really does mess you up a little. I am an avid fan of shortcuts (ctrl +t, a, c, v, etc.) and I get annoyed when nothing happens and then I realize I'm actually pressing fn instead. The keys also seem to...

Using it for gaming? HELL YEAH! LOOK HERE!

This laptop makes me sweat balls during hot summer days when playing with it on my lap, the videocard gets hot while playing games. (hotter than most laptops)

HD 4670 graphics card ; I've Looked up this card on notebookcheck where they benchmark laptop videocards. This is faster than 8600m GT in SLI and 9700mGTS supposedly ; 4GB OF RAM! (wish the OS 64-bit to utilize all 4GB properly) ; Played Unreal...

KEYBOARD IS WEIRD! who thought it was a great idea to swap Fn and Ctrl!?! Oh great now I have to break my pinky to reach Ctrl in FPS games. I got tired of it and put Shift as crouch. (games that use shift to run, ur just going to have to get used to it...

Wow, I'm blown away! BUY THIS LAPTOP NOW!!!

I am totally blown away by the hardware and performance this laptop gives you for such a good price. I searched a long time before buying this, and I couldn't even find another laptop as good as this one for under $900-$1,000. So if you're looking for...

Radeon HD 4670 is awesome, 4 gigs DDR-800 RAM, good dual-core cpu, HDMI out, bluetooth, sharp looks and solid build, crystal clear sound (7.1 channels with SUBWOOFER!!!), bargain price for so much power, Vista runs well, plays graphically demanding...

My primary gripe is that it's taking me a while to get used to the keyboard. I find I make a ton of mistakes when typing because I accidentally hit the wrong keys. So this probably isnt the machine to get for word-processing, but it's great for web...

almost 5 eggs

odd thing - the DvD drive ejects and opens itself sometimes for no reason...even if i leave the room and there's no disk installed....maybe 4 times now in more than a month...very odd. Also - overheated once playing Empire: Total War while it was on my...

great performance, great price, nice features....what else to say? Everything worked out of the box. Surfs nice, plays video and DvD's well. I don't play games in high rez - that being said it plays Warcraft and Empire: Total war fine for me...no...

Annoying add-ons to uninstall, comes with VISTA - have not tried to wipe and install XP...too lazy...also, does NOT come with VISTA DvD, you have to make a recovery image and burn it yourself - not a prob - they even include 2 DVDR's, but still...

Awesome laptop

I couldn't recommend this laptop more. I searched for a laptop for a long time and I had my sights on an ASUS, but when I saw this computer I decided to buy it. You will not be disappointed with this machine.

Great video card, runs cool, good screen, fairly fast processor. This laptop has prompted me to take the plunge and switch completely to HDMI. The fingerprint reader is kind of cool and it works surprisingly well

While the full keyboard is great, some of the keys are slightly irregular. Somewhat low resolution. I don't know if this is a con, but I can't figure out how to use the webcam. I don't see any software for it, when I turn it on using the softkey a...
