Great Little Netbook!

Why is there no mention or reference to this netbook on the Foxconn site? Is it really by Foxconn? Who cares though, it's a great little netbook and when the EGG brings the price down to what I paid for this one, I'm buying two more!

This netbook in this price range ROCKS! I use it for some light business and watch stuff on Hulu Plus without a hitch! It hides really well in my car and I connect to the internet using my Android phone when not by a wifi connection which works great....

Why, oh why would they put a sticker over one of the hard drive cover screws that says that the warranty is void if tampered with? I've never seen that on any notebook or netbook ever! How could you damage this thing just by changing the hard drive? I...

good deal @ $190 shipped

newegg rocketh!

The FoxOs it comes with is not really very network friendly. Fortunately, ubuntu 10.10 netbook remix loaded easy. Everything works. Clear screen, bright. SD card reader is handy. Nice size harddrive for a netbook. Has a 3g cardslot so great little road...

Not much battery there, especially over wireless connection. Twice the screen has gone crazy, static like screen of death.....not sure what's up there. I did email Foxconn because I couldn't find ANYTHING on their website about this little bugger and...

Good Bang for the Buck

Bought 2. Does include FoxOS, which I promptly replaced with Ubuntu 10.10 via USB thumb drive. I'll buy more if the price comes back down. These are used for Barcrawler Entertainment's Karaoke song submission software, so big specs aren't needed, just...

Very portable, Good boot time, Fast for specs (single core Atom). Does have b/g/n. I got it for $189

I was an idiot and didn't know that I had to press Fn+F2 to turn on WiFi. Reading the manual would have helped me there. Spent 30 mins reading forums, looked down and said, "OH! Duh ; small trackpad buttons, small battery (3cell), wish power adapter...

Nice Little Netbook

This is my first netbook. I am pleased with my purchase. It will never take the place of a laptop but it serves it purpose. It came with FoxOs which allows you to access the internet immediately. I wiped the drive and installed ubuntu 10 netbook remix...

Great for the price

I replaced the 160GB SATA HDD with a 30GB Solid State Drive and installed windows 7-starter. Even with the included 1GB RAM included it runs great, so I will likely not upgrade the RAM at all. I have about 14GB of free Drive space, so I may buy a 60GB...

Cheap! It has a nice glossy black look. The Hard drive is a standard 2.5" drive, takes SO-Dimm as well. The included hard drive has a linuxinstall with basic mozilla browser and wordprocessor/spreadsheet software, so it is useable right out of the box...

Have a couple of dead pixels on the screen. Fan runs a little loud while in actual use. Keyboard is small (it is a netbook after all). Keyboard double strikes letters on occation

Great!

I was on the fence about getting one of these. We have several laptops in our house, but not a netbook. I got this and loaded Ubuntu on it and it seemed to run sluggish. Loaded Windows XP and it runs surprisingly fast. Keeping software installs to a...

Attractive price, small, light, decent battery life

Foxconn SZ-901 Intel 945GSE 10.1" Netbook Barebone

Bought it for price but ended up adding external DVD ROM and other things not planned for and could have bought other brand with W7 Starter for not much more. Not sorry because learned a lot.

Good learning machine for install of Ubuntou 10-10. The netbook install was not easy to use and FoxOS was bad. Planned to use XP but this Ubuntu is working well and will keep it for a while. Sound is OK for what it is. Had a hard time with wireless...

Users manual somewhat sketchy. Small keyboard for 78 year old hands

Best bang for the buck

I installed Easy Peasy after a day of using FoxOS, and I like the new OS much better. Don't hesitate to buy, a wonderful little netbook.

A very well built and fast machine. For a Atom n270 processor, this machine is fast. Good quality and solid feel to it. Does come with FoxOS installed, not barebones

The fan does run a bit, but I don't think that is abnormal

Postscript on previous review

I should have added that, if you install 32-bit Windows 7 home on the foxconn, then you should go to the power settings in the control panel and set to "maximum performance", the same as for _any_ netbook. You can also select a non-aero W7 theme,...
