Basic bundle. Typewriter, calculator, gaming machine, movie entertainment system, portable companion and survival artist. The 15 incher has something of everything, yet isn't outstanding in any single point. But: does it have to at a price of 550...

A fine value laptop

Decent Sandy Bridge performance ; 4GB of RAM ; Battery life

Tiny trackpad ; Screen a little washed out ; Design

Good

Newegg rarely puts out good laptop deals. I got this for $550 elsewhere. Beware, you may get a bad battery. Mine has 23% wear level at time of purchase and had to get a replacement.

The build quality is decent. Looks stylish, but the chassis is made of mostly plastic. Equipped with an i5-2410m, which does pretty well for the price. The heat output is manageable

Would have liked a chiclet, matte keyboard. Screen has no anti-glare protection

Loaded, inexpensive

Bought it else for lot lesser. Wonder if I can swap out the processor on this with a core core i5; hoping the prices drop when Ivy Bridge is released.

Second generation core I3 (Sandy Bridge)processor, large 500GB HDD, bluetooth (music and data), WiDi (Wireless display; call it wireless HDMI), express card slot (you can even add a USB 3 port through the expresscard slot), HDMI

All the USB ports (by the way, they are all USB2.0) are on the sides; would have liked some on the back of the machine. Even the power cord goes on the side. The SD card protrudes out when inserted unlike my 2 year old netbook where the card disappears...
