Great computer, still running

Amazing how well it holds up. I have a 2009 iMac that is just getting too slow to use on the latest OSX. This computer, still using Vista, is great. Not issues at all.

Good Price back in 2007. Worked great for years. Still does a great job on the latest MS Office, Stat programs, internet, whatever you need

Had to buy a new battery a few years back (bigger and better, not expensive). Not really a con. Added a 2Gig memory at some point

So and So

Overall it's a pretty good laptop with a few problems you'll most likely have to consult Gateway for help...

This laptop is beautiful ; 17" screen and the 4 USB ports

The wifi card is on the fritz and the vid card flickers from time to time

Great Value

Bought this for my dad who is getting older and the accessibilty features (dpi scaling, mag glass) are really helpful for people with less than perfect vision. Vista is not really that hard to get used to.

Very nice screen. Good features (4 usb ports and 1394). Nice large keyboard layout with keypad. Decent sound. Hard to beat for the money. Great for doing taxes

Loaded with bloatware. Two megs max of ram (need to upgrade from 1 meg)

Worth the Money

So far so good. I recommend this product!

Excellent display - the best I've seen. The full-size keypad allows for speedy data entry. The large hard drive is a huge plus. I am now using this laptop as my main computer and my desktop as secondary

1GB memory is great, but I upgraded to 2GM. More memory is better! (Not really a con, but I put it here anyway!)

Disaster!

Choose another brand!

Great screen size and clarity. Customer support was reasonable if you get the right person. Keyboard is a nice size and feel. Worked great for ONE YEAR

The 13th month of ownership the harddrive blew. Obviously 1 month out of warranty. It has blown 3 times altogether. I will never buy a product with this name. Keys falling off keyboard. I had an HP for 8 years and never had a problem. This only lasted...

adequate quality at excellent price

I have loved this machine since upgrading the memory. The core duo processor flies and doesn't run very hot, although I recommend tilting or propping any laptopto allow more airflow for longer lifespan or get a cool pad as they all run warm

excellent quality picture with decent battery life for a machine this size, loaded with the essentials and a bit more. definately the right machine if you are looking for a desktop replacement at an affordable price

VISTA, 1 Gig memory is not enough to run quickly on this machine. Replaced the 512 X2 with 1 gig x2 and fixed it all. Weight. Since it is big, it weighs more and draws more energy. not the right choice for extreme portability and long flights on...

You can see the influence of e-machines in this product. Overall, an unbeatable product at this price point.

big, crisp screen, nice full keyboard layout

touchpad a little small. vista

Awesome value

This machine has everything I need in a notebook, and a huge step up from my 4 year old Dell Latitude. The dual core processor will give you decent performance, though it's not quite as fast as my Core 2 Quad machine ;) I love this thing. I'm not...

Good quality widescreen display, solid construction, cool and quiet operation, full size keyboard with number pad, decent sound for a laptop this inexpensive

Shift key on right side is too close to the up arrow, a little on the heavy side
