Gateway TC7804u

Nice design; good keyboard; wide-screen 16:9 display.

No Bluetooth or HDMI; bulky for a 14-inch laptop; touch-sensitive volume control is quirky.

Gateway's Gateway TC7804u offers a good collection of components and features for a sub-$700 laptop, plus it has the looks of a more expensive machine.

Gateway TC7804u

 

The Gateway TC7804u is the perfect general-purpose laptop for these tough economic times.

The least expensive laptop in this line. 4GB of memory. 320GB hard drive is generous. eSATA port included for storage expansion. T touch typist's keyboard. Good processing for the money.

A bigger battery would sweeten the pot. No HDMI port.
