Gigabyte U2442F Ultrabook Review

Without question the Gigabyte U2442F is cutting edge stuff when it comes to ultrabook performance. Armed with a 3rd-Gen Core i7 processor, plenty of memory, and a quality SSD, the U2442F is as capable as a high-end desktop. Where the U2442F falters is...

Gigabyte U2442F Extreme Ultrabook

Gigabyte has designed an Ultrabook that allows you to do a lot more than just browse the Web and compose emails

Excellent configuration ; Matte screen ; Backlit keyboard

Screen's build quality could be better ; Keyboard isn't great

Gigabyte's interpretation of what an Ultrabook should be is a good one and the company has created a computer that's not only light and highly mobile, but also very fast. There are some aspects of the build quality that could be better, but for the...

Gigabyte i7 Notebook U2442F

Gigibyte are best known for making motherboards for both desktop and notebook computers. They also make rather good notebooks as the motherboard is itself perhaps the single most important component in the notebook.

The Gigabyte i7 Notebook U2442F measures 33.5x23x2cm, the last figure is thickness and the figure quoted is at the front add another.5cm at the rear. It weighs 1.6kilos. The screen display is 1600x900. Model numbers for some computers often give no...

REVIEW: Gigabyte U2442F ultrabook

Gigabyte turn their attention away from motherboards to the ultrabook market with the release of the Gigabyte U2442F. A well-rounded portable machine with dedicated graphics, find out just how well it performs in our full review.

A very worthy ultrabook, the Gigabyte U2442F is in the enviable position of being able to provide some decent gaming chops in a portable, fast-booting style. It's not the thinnest, nor the lightest, but its one of the more flexible machines...

Review: Gigabyte U2442F Ultrabook

An excellent Ultrabook option for power users, from a very unlikely source.

Not only is the U2442F a great performer for the pricetag, but it feels like it could be the start of the company becoming a serious player in an area in which it has always been second rate, and focused on gimmicks over functionality and performance.

Good deal... but Beware, No GDDR5

There's a relative lack of ultrabooks with good graphics due to cooling limitations. Here we have an ultrabook that looks like a GREAT deal but upon closer examination is slightly less attractive than you'd think. Windows 8 may be a "downside" for some...

A touchscreen laptop with decent graphics, if not a homerun ; Low price (relative) ; Touch screen ; Decent display resolution ; Little to no bloatware ; Good build quality

Overall, there's no glaring problems, just some design decisions that limit the laptop somewhat ; Older Ivy Bridge processor ; No GDDR5 -- Seriously limits GPU performance -- effective performance is like a GeForce 640 LE (see TechSpot review) ; No...
