Great Laptop For the Price

I've had this laptop for almost 2 years and I am very happy with it. I got it on sale for $370 in spring of 2011 and I've gotten more than my money's worth. I have NEVER had a single issue, including thermal shutdown, either. Maybe since mine is...

Cheap, durable, reliable

Sometimes slow to start up, might not be good for a gamer

Just what I expected

Does exactly what we wanted it to do. Great for moderate use.

Everything works just fine. I bought this for a person in our office, and she LOVES it! She had an old slow Dell, and cannot believe the difference. Happy as pie

Use it for home schooling

Newegg has the best price for this laptop.

My kid uses this laptop for her homeschooling. It is very fast and very reliable. It never crashes and my kid uses it for long hours at a time doing her home schooling. I would highly recommend this for K12

maybe a solution

I like everything about the computer except the thermal shutdowns

Here's my story. Same symptoms, screen corruption, shutdown, thermal error message ; Called HP support. Rep advised me to power down the computer, unplug the cord from the a/c charger, remove the battery ; He then told me to hold down the power button...

Do not buy HP

I have no idea how HP is still in business. This is not the first outrageous experience I've had with HP.

Price

This laptop developed a display problem followed by a thermal overheat message within 1st day of use. After hours of going back and fourth with HP on several different calls, HP finally agreed with us that the laptop needed a motherboard. After I...

I recommend this product!

This laptop is great for a teenager that loves to brows the web or an adult that needs something dependable for work. It is super durable (like I said) because I have accidentally dropped this computer several times (even rolled down the stairs once)...

durable ; fast processor speed ; good webcam (videos/pictures) ; good size memory ; great for downloading things

microsoft word starter" often freezes ; easily shows scratches or marks on cover

Worthless!

Bought this PC as a good $300 replacement for my daily use - surfing, editing, videos, etc. It has decent credentials and I have not observed the heat related issues that MANY reviews note. I thought I would be lucky... but not so! This unit performs...

None - abolutely none

Don't do it!

HP has announced it may be selling it's PC and laptop business. I hope the company they sell it to knows more about the product than HP! HP also made a series of bad DVD burners back in the day when they first came out... and they would coaster...

Price, and features. Newegg is the best (thank you for helping me out of HP's mistake)

Been in tech support for 13 years, and this laptop was the worse I've ever owned. I bought the first one, returned it and asked for my money back due to thermal shutdown issues (knowing it's a design issue after reseating the CPU and everything). I...
