HP Compaq 2710p

The HP Compaq 2710p's battery rivals the Energizer bunny for lasting-power, but you'll have to put up with a dim screen and low-powered components.

All-day battery life. Trendy design. Webcam with mainstream digital camera features.

Washed-out screen. ULV processor combined with the 4,200-rpm hard drive is a bottleneck for Vista. Pricey extended battery and dock. Pricey system.

Compaq HP Compaq 2710p

The HP Compaq 2710p is a highly configurable convertible notebook with some ultracool features. It doesn't have a very fast processor or an integrated optical drive, but its battery life is fabulous and its screen is responsive.

Indoor/outdoor screen ; Good docking and battery options

Unorthodox button placement

This tablet could be faster, but input is supereasy, even in full sunlight, and battery life is top-notch.

HP Compaq 2710p

HP's attractive Compaq 2710p convertible tablet suffers from one fatal flaw, choosing a ThinkPad-style pointing stick over a touchpad, effectively ruling it out for a large number of potential users.

Slick, brushed-aluminium design, Sturdy but lightweight construction

No touchpad, No optical drive

The HP Compaq 2710p Tablet PC, power and portability combined.

HP was one of the first computer manufacturers to step into the tablet PC market in 2003 with the Compaq TC1000 hybrid model.

Decent performance with ULV processor., All-day battery life with battery slice., Bright indoor and outdoor 12.1-inch screen., Built-in webcam and keyboard light., Solid keyboard

Price adds up quickly., No trackpad

HP Compaq 2710p Tablet PC Review (Video)

The 2710p has a solid design. The chassis is sturdy and shows no signs of flex. Appearance wise, I have no complaints either and the brushed aluminum accents really catch the eye. The design is very minimalistic, but yet very functional

Solid design and sturdy chassis ; Sleek appearance with brushed aluminum accents ; Great wireless options ; Small and lightweight ; Good battery life

Pen falls out of silo sometimes ; Hinge has a little wobble when in notebook mode ; No optical drive, but this saves on weight

Even though the 2710p isn't packed with features it is a lightweight solid tablet. If you are looking for a nice ultraportable with a solid design, sleek appearance, good battery life and great wireless options this may be for you. It is the perfect...

HP 2710P TABLET PC

Flaunting a Core 2 Duo Intel processor and 2048MB (2GB) of DDR2 SD RAM (max of 4GB RAM), this tablet isn't one to be taken lightly in the power department. Although it only has an Intel GMA X3100 Dynamic Video graphics processor, it can allocate up to...

Hewlett-Packard Compaq 2710p GP143PA

Responsive electronic pen, keyboard light, A4 size, cool operating temperature

Few shortcuts available in tablet mode, poor performance

This unit is clearly not built for performance, but manages to do the basics with some serious style. Its cool operating temperature makes it comfortable to use over extended periods and we liked the responsive tablet controls.
