HP Compaq 6515b

The HP Compaq 6515b is business laptop with great connectivity, but it faces stiff competition from others in its category.

Plenty of wireless options to choose from. Laminated palm rests. Good features.

Pretty thick. Mediocre performance scores.

HP Compaq 6515b Review

The configuration of this review machine is slightly different than what is currently available on the HP website, but a similar 6515b, with a one-year warranty and no Bluetooth, costs $929. Step up one level, and $1199 gets you a slightly better CPU,...

Very solidly built ; Excellent wireless connectivity options ; An abundance of security features ; Strong performance ; Reasonable price ; Good LCD ; Decent battery life

1 GB RAM is the standard memory configuration ; A little bulky for a thin-and-light notebook

There was nothing I would describe as bloatware installed on this notebook, but there were a number of useful business-oriented utilities, primarily for handling security. Windows Vista Business did not present any surprises, though after years of...

The HP Compaq 6515b Notebook PC might look plain on the outside but inside holds several surprises for those who are quick to judge a book by its cover.

With a strong corporate feature set, the HP Compaq 6515b should find favour with corporate customers looking at value-for-money propositions.

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Seller's listings need more accuracy

On the plus side, the laptop came with a secondary battery, which wasn't mentioned in the description. I don't think seller was being dishonest; I think seller (Atlanta Electronics) just doesn't check the hardware specs carefully enough before they...

Arrived promptly; laptop appears to be overall in very good shape (despite an optical disk problem) and the price was very good. Came with one extra goodie not mentioned in the description (see my Other Thoughts). Win 7 Pro and Office 2007 Enterprise...

Description indicated 2 gigs RAM and a DVD-RW. In fact, it came with 1 gig and a CD-RW/DVD-ROM (which appears to be defective, in addition). I took off three stars for these glaring discrepancies. Sent an email to the seller (via Newegg) before...

HP Compaq 6515b

MY HP Compaq 6715b is without doubt the worst computer I've ever had, coupled with a bloody awful OS in Vista. Ridiculously slow for almost any task compared to the Dell it replaced, unreliable CD and DVD burning make archiving a nightmare, hangs and...

Heavy enough to sink without trace very quickly when I launch the damnable thing off a ferry into the Bass Strait. Large enough to make an easy target if I decide to shoot it instead

How long have you got? The longer I've had it the more I've grown to hate it
