HP Elite Dragonfly review: Traveling first-class

The new HP Elite Dragonfly, crafted from CNC-machined magnesium and weighing in at just 2.2 pounds, is one of the lightest commercial 2-in-1s ever designed.

Perfect size for traveling ; Lots of security features ; Incredible battery life ; Great port selection

Older processors ; Keyboard feels cramped

HP Elite Dragonfly review: Pretty powerful for a 2-pound laptop

The Elite Dragonfly is a business laptop in name only. With its light weight, small size and attractive design, the Dragonfly looks more like a stylish ultraportable than a clunky notebook your company's IT department handed to you. It offers powerful...

Lightweight ; Attractive design ; Comfortable and quiet keyboard ; Generous port offering for the size

Middling performance ; Battery life could be better

At the end of the day, the Elite Dragonfly is a solid convertible that, despite its business branding, might just hold an appeal to mainstream laptop shoppers.

HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook Review: It Checks All the Boxes

This is the future of Chromebooks for business.

Great look and feel ; Fantastic video conferencing experience ; Thunderbolt 4 ; 4G LTE/5G wireless available ; Haptic touchpad and spill-resistant keyboard ; Extra security with vPro

USI pen not included with all configurations ; Palm rejection could be better ; Made for business and priced that way

The HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook is incredible — with one big problem

There is not much I need to say about the HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook that has not already been evident from the leaks, announcements , and general hype surrounding this thing.

Sturdy, premium build ; Thin and light ; Nice 3:2 display with 1,000-nit and Sure View Reflect options ; Great speakers ; Fast processor options with vPro ; Sharp webcam with physical shutter

You don’t want to know how much it costs ; Can get warm ; Haptic touchpad is a bit stiff ; Business software isn’t good enough for this price ; Battery life could be better ; Screen can be reflective

But the desktop software that ChromeOS can offer isn’t worthy of this beauty — or this price. Again, I know some of my issues are nitpicky, but this is software that business users use every day and are being asked to pay very high prices to use. And I...

HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook Review

Thin and light ; Beautiful 3:2 aspect ratio touch screen ; Snappy backlit keyboard with haptic touchpad ; Great performance, connectivity, webcam, and sound ; Fingerprint reader and magnetic pen

High price only makes sense for business use ; Windows users will have to learn new keyboard shortcuts

Its price will scare off casual consumers, but HP's flagship Elite Dragonfly Chromebook is a brilliant argument for Chrome OS in business.

HP Elite Dragonfly (2020) review: recycled in the right ways

A business laptop with broad appeal.

Sure View Reflect screen ; Tile tracker works ; Exceptional keyboard ; 11-hour battery life

Expensive ; Screen is quite glossy in privacy mode ; Last-generation processors

This new configuration is largely the same model, with a few differences. It’s now 5G-enabled (coming in mid-2020), has an integrated Tile tracker (coming in mid-May), a new privacy-oriented screen that includes HP’s latest Sure View Reflect...

The HP Elite Dragonfly is too stylish for the boardroom

Business on the inside, party on the outside.

Light, durable chassis ; Lovely matte blue color that doesn’t collect fingerprints ; Quiet keyboard that’s very nice to type on ; Strong performance for productivity work ; Lots of configuration options

It really should have a 3:2 display ; Power button is in an awkward spot ; Sticker shock ; Some annoying system bugs ; Not available in all of the typical places you buy a laptop

The Dragonfly proves that corporate business machines don’t have to be boring and soulless. In fact, they can be more desirable than their consumer-focused counterparts. It even has a cool name, unlike the jumble of letters and numbers most laptops are...

HP Elite Dragonfly

The HP Elite Dragonfly is a no-compromises, no-nonsense business laptop that manages to stay under 2.5 pounds while including a 360-degree convertible hinge.

Extremely light weight. Exceptional build quality. Supports Intel vPro. USB Type-A and HDMI ports. Standard three-year warranty. LTE connectivity.

Frequent fan noise. Uses older-generation CPUs. Only available in dark blue.

Bottom Line: The HP Elite Dragonfly is a no-compromises, no-nonsense business laptop that manages to stay under 2.5 pounds while including a 360-degree convertible hinge.

HP Elite Dragonfly review: The corporate laptop that's too good for your boss

The HP Elite Dragonfly is incredibly lightweight and stunningly beautiful, with a battery that won't quit. Whether your boss deserves a laptop this nice is another matter entirely.

Lightweight ; Long battery life ; Enhanced security features

CPU performance lags behind others ; Charging ports only on the right side of laptop, which can hinder mouse use ; Some key functions force use of separate function key

As a corporate laptop, the Elite Dragonfly is hardened against attacks, including those to the BIOS. HP says it can both detect scary UEFI-targeting root kits and recover from them. The Dragonfly also integrates in its Sure Click feature. It basically...
