HP EliteBook 6930p

With its rugged good looks, fast performance, and ample features, the HP EliteBook 6930p can't help but draw comparisons to the Lenovo ThinkPad T400, an Editors' Choice laptop that it almost keeps pace with.

Top-of-the-line processor. Fast hard drive. Ample wireless options. Terrific resolution on an LED screen. Sexy new look. Ruggedized exterior. Priced competitively. Modular bay for an extra battery.

Small included battery. Pointing stick is stiff. Lacks switchable graphics.

Review HP EliteBook 6930p Notebook

EliteBook

Very stable and robust case; Excellent haptics thanks to the high quality materials; Three year guarantee ex works; UMTS available; Excellent keyboard and touchpad; Good office performance; Quiet office use and low heating up; Good battery life...

Shaky battery; Closing mechanism needs getting used to; No digital picture output on the device itself; Unergonomic trackpoint; Below average colour production of the display, low contrast and illumination

A high-quality display. The alternative LED panel unfortunately only offers standard WXGA resolution. The WXGA+ panel with a resolution of 1440x900 could be exciting for the purpose of a better summary.

HP EliteBook 6930p

A solid business laptop with excellent battery life, the EliteBook 6930p won't disappoint, but there is little in this laptop to warrant the 'Elite' label.

Good build quality, Fingerprint reader, Centrino 2, Impressive battery life, 3 year warranty, Available with 64-bit Windows and/or 8GB of RAM

No DVI or HDMI port, Fingerprint reader unfortunately placed, No eSATA or USB charging with power off, Average value for money

HP EliteBook 6930P (FW086PA)

Long battery life, perfect for business users.

Good battery life, sturdy build, fast hard drive, keyboard light, two navigation devices

Lid's latch can be difficult to use, very long set up time, no 'Sleep-and-Charge'-like ports

The 6930P's size makes it both comfortable to use, as well as easy to transport, and users who require a lot of running time away from an outlet will appreciate the option for a larger second battery. We don't particularly like its latch system, nor...

HP EliteBook 6930p review

A great laptop that successfully combines rugged and regular features

Decent protection ; Light ; Sturdy ; Performance

Not very rugged ; Some flex in keyboard

Although this machine will not withstand the rough treatment of life on a mountain, it will suit those who want something powerful with decent protection to general elements

HP EliteBook 6930p notebook

HP's EliteBook brand sits above the Compaq range, offering similar quality and usability, but adding premium materials, power and features to the list. The EliteBook 6930p is a compact and well-made choice, but has its work cut out tempting corporate...

Great battery life, good build quality, ergonomics

Pricey, not the most stylish, hazy screen

The EliteBook does very little wrong - indeed the slightly hazy screen and the similarity in styling to Compaq models are the only criticisms we can aim at it. Despite this, we found it a difficult machine to justify, with Compaq laptops offering...
