Unable to use Internet (freezes all the time), which stops me using the laptop - short battery life

Does what it needs to do - Windows 8 gets some getting used to make sure you upgrade to windows 8.1

Make sure you make recovery disks after updating to Win 8.1 as you can only make 1 system recovery with HP recovery software.

I can't upgrade to Windows 8.1 for some strange reason

Seems very good so far, came with Windows 8 but easy to upgrade to 8.1 which seems to flow better. Certainly plenty fast enough for what I want to do, I love the quality and I would certainly go for a refurbished model again.

Doesn't come with any kind of instructions so am having to find my way around by trial and error. Not sure where to go for help but that is possibly down to my lack of knowledge.

Sent me faulty product which really put me off by wasting my timed

This is my first laptop so I don't have much to compare it to but so far I am really pleased. Decided to pay a little more for the extra memory. I read umpteen reviews on various laptops and this one was the best for what I wanted, a reliable budget...

Windows 8 has taken a bit of getting used to, despite some really good features there are also some really annoying ones. Like the 'chime bar' appearing for no apparent reason or my page suddenly disappears and returns to the home screen.

Nice physical design/layout and colour is a nice dark red, not at all garish.

Ponderously slow, kept freezing and going to a white screen. Returned it, hoping this was symptomatic of being faulty rather than normal.
