HP Pavilion dv2500t

With its wavy-pinstripe imprint and glossy-black accents, the dv2500t carries forward the designer HP Pavilion look. Polished to an almost pearlescent sheen, the touchpad looks more like a minor work of art than a pointing device. Improvements include...

Attractive, glossy imprint, Dual headphones jacks

Only two USB ports, Disappointing battery life

Light, stylish, and affordable multimedia laptop could use a battery boost.

HP Pavilion dv2500t (Core 2 Duo 2GHz review: HP Pavilion dv2500t (Core 2 Duo 2GHz

HP Pavilion dv2500t (Core 2 Duo 2GHz

Strong set of specs for the price; performance almost matches that of more expensive laptops; attractive 14.1-inch display; dual headphone jacks and fingerprint reader; includes most of the ports and connections home users need.

Average battery life with the standard six-cell battery; opting for an HDMI port means sacrificing a USB port.

The HP Pavilion dv2500t delivers an eye-catching case, a strong set of features, and solid performance at a lower price than competing systems. We recommend it for home or school use.

HP Pavilion DV2500t

On the outside, the HP Pavilion dv2500t ($1,409 direct) looks pretty much like any other HP laptop that has graced the retail shelves in the last two years. It's what's inside that has gotten the makeover, complete with Intel's latest mobile chipset....

HP Pavilion dv2500t Review

HP's glossy "Imprint Finish" on the lid and palm rests remains one of the key design features of the dv2500t. HP's "Imprint Finish" isn't just paint, it's actually a complex process that starts with the molding of the plastics. The swirling design and...

Fast Core 2 Duo processors ; Solid dedicated graphics option ; Still one of the best designs on the market ; Excellent build quality ; Good keyboard and touchpad ; Great screen ; Responsive media buttons and nice remote

Glossy Imprint finish is a magnet for fingerprints ; Only 2 USB ports with dedicated graphics option ; Bottom of notebook near the memory slots gets a little too warm

Bottom line, although the design hasn't changed in the last year the the HP dv2500t delivers modern day performance and plenty of multimedia extras with style and an affordable price tag. Overall the dv2500t is one of the best notebooks available for...

HP dv2500t Review

The main reason for buying the dv2500t was that I needed not only a notebook to take with me to college, but also an entertainment center. The dv2500t seemed to fit my needs perfectly. It has a quality graphics card for some light to medium gaming, a...

reasonable price ; powerful GPU for its class ; good battery life ; doubles as a TV/DVR ; bright, clear screen ; it's pretty

fingerprint reader isn't as cracked up as it sounds ; bloatware ; low resolution ; the piano-black finish catches fingerprints
