HP Pavilion tx1000

Easy-to-use tablet PC has thoughtful design touches but short battery life.

Tablet is easy to use Features a unique touchpad

Battery life is poor, Screen is hard to see

This easy-to-use tablet PC is graced with thoughtful design touches, but it had a short battery life in our tests.

HP Pavilion tx1000us

Innovative design; unique touchpad; touch screen doesn't require stylus; not expensive.

Slightly thicker than it should be; glossy screen can be hard to read.

HP's first Vista-based laptop, the Pavilion tx1000us, is an unusual but largely successful hybrid, combining a tablet design with an entertainment-focused laptop.

HP Pavilion tx1000

Some of the functions on HP's first Pavilion convertible still need work, but the boatload of features and the Windows Vista experience are things to look forward to.

Sleek imprinting design. Integrated optical drive. Boatload of features. Integrated EV-DO. Great touchpad. Mini remote included. First tablet to announce with Vista Home Premium.

Does not use a Wacom-enabled screen. Spotty pen-stroke recognition. No FireWire port.

HP Pavilion tx1110us Review

It's been awhile since I've worked excessively on a Windows Based notebook that wasn't from a Japanese company (Sony, Fujitsu, Toshiba) and it was mainly because I detested the aesthetics and design of Western notebooks. I'm sorry, but I just hate the...

If the TX series was just a regular notebook with no rotating screen and a Tablet PC version, I would have been satisfied for just the way it was because I like small portable and powerful notebooks. However, since there is a Tablet version out there,...

HP Pavilion tx1000

In the past few years small Tablet PC notebooks with decent specs haven't been cheap because the display's digitizer significantly increases cost. After nearly 5 years on the market, tablet PCs have improved (both hardware and software) and come down...

Sleek design with the imprint finish. Small and light. Good performance in most tasks except 3D graphics. Integrated optical drive. Nice Altec Lansing stereo speakers and HP QuickPlay for your DVD pleasure. Integrated web camera is great for Skype...

Digitizer requires a heavy touch and could be more responsive. The notebook runs hot (like many AMD processor powered machine). Battery life is short. As with most notebooks these days, there's plenty of bloatware installed

The HP Pavilion tx1000z stands strong as an entry-level notebook, especially for those who are looking for a touch screen and tablet features. The specs and features are beefed up sufficiently to make for a strong computing and multimedia experience....

HP tx1000 Convertible Notebook Review

If you have been searching the market for an entertainment notebook with Tablet PC features, your search may be over. Thanks to HP's tx1000 convertible notebook that starts at $1,299. Though the tx1000 is targeted toward the average consumer, business...

Innovative touchpad ; Mini remote control for movies, music and photos ; Reasonable cost ; Touchscreen (if you select this as an option on your tx1000) doesn't require stylus ; Good selection of ports and multimedia buttons ; Good amount of included...

Screen has some graininess and reflective in office environments ; Build is mostly plastic, some flex in parts ; No FireWire port ; Can run warm when under demanding use

HP should be commended for bringing something different to the table in terms of a multimedia notebook convertible. You certainly won't find any cool options like this from Dell. While the Tablet PC functionality of the tx1000 isn't outstanding, it can...

HP Pavilion tx1000

An artfully designed ultraportable and convertible Windows Tablet PC, the HP Pavilion tx1000 is geared for multimedia. It's lightweight and has some d...

Feature packed, sleek design, lightweight

Battery runs down quickly, lasting just one hour and 47 minutes. Screen lacks an antireflective coating, it seems to have another kind of coating with a smoky hue that makes seeing anything on the screen from an angle unduly difficult

Nicely designed and comfortable to use, despite the screen glare. Just be sure to pack the AC adapter.

HP PAVILION TX1138EA Tablet PC

HP is the biggest seller of Tablet PCs in the corporate space. To be fair, there aren't too many players in that space but HP made headway first with a funky space-age design and latterly with something a little more corporate. The HP Pavilion tx1138ea...

Great price, Decent battery life

Screen is hazy, not that powerful

The HP Pavilion tx1138ea is an interesting idea and one we enjoyed playing with.

HP Pavilion tx1000

An artfully designed convertible Windows Tablet PC priced at around £830, the just-under-2kg HP Pavilion tx1000 is geared for multimedia. This machine has some interesting and distinctive design touches, including a unique touchpad, but its abysmal...

On WorldBench 6 Beta 2, the tx1000, equipped with a 2-GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60 processor and Windows Vista Premium Home Edition, managed a middling real-word speed score of 64. In our battery tests, it ran down after just 1 hour, 45 minutes. Still,...
