HP ProBook 455 G3 T1B79UT Notebook Review

Budget AMD business. The AMD model starts for about $200 USD less than the Intel ProBook 450 equivalent. Unfortunately, the hit to performance and battery life when compared to your standard ULV Core ix CPU is very tangible.

relatively strong base; approved against MIL-STD standards, easily accessible RAM, HDD, WLAN modules, comfortable keyboard; optional backlight, VGA, HDMI, and optical drive, removable battery, HP BIOSphere, inexpensive

poor outdoor visibility; display backlight could be brighter, PWM on all brightness levels except maximum, small touchpad; soft mouse keys, unimpressive GPU and CPU power, only one internal storage bay, system fan always active, no USB Type-C or WWAN,...

The AMD Carrizo platform for notebooks is supposed to be very versatile with its configurable thermal design power. Its performance here, however, is considerably slower than even the three-generation old Core i5-4200U. The integrated Radeon R6 GPU...

HP ProBook 455 Ubuntu review

An adequate and inexpensive desktop replacement

Cheap, lots of ports, good OS functionality, high capacity HDD

Poor battery life, old version of Ubuntu, mediocre performance

For basic office tasks, the ProBook 455 Ubuntu isn't a bad desktop replacement, and Ubuntu has made big strides from niche project to a rounded OS that most people will adapt to comfortably.

HP ProBook 455 Ubuntu review

This collaboration between HP and Canonical partly works, but mediocre performance, poor battery life and a soon to be out-of-date OS stand in the way of Ubuntu's mainstream enterprise success.

Cheap, lots of ports, good OS functionality, high capacity HDD

Thick and heavy, dull screen, poor battery life, old version of Ubuntu

Great!

I love it. God has really blessed. I was first leery of getting an HP, but I have been impressed, even with the manuals you can download from the web site. I was leery of having an AMD processor in a notebook, because of the heat. The notebook has been...

Great battery life High speed Choice of Windows 7 or 8 Built-in Bluetooth Nice big touchpad Keyboard design feels right (spacing between keys and physical depth) Keys and mouse buttons are very quiet when typing clicking, some laptops sound like you're...

I'm too indecisive about making the leap to Windows 8, I kind of resent having the disk there available to me The edges of the laptop surface (bezel?) feel ever so slightly sharp? Noone's going to cut themselves with it but if you type at a certain...

Much lighter than expected. Keyboard feels nice to use. Windows 7 so much better than the 8!

Not really found any yet. Getting used to finding things. Finger scan in but am concerned if this goes wrong.
