Huawei MediaPad

A 7in Honeycomb tablet with an aluminium unibody design and all the power of its bigger brothers.

On its sides are a micro HDMI port, 3.5mm headphone jack, microUSB and a dedicated power jack. As yet, we're not sure if it allows charging over microUSB. But what is it like to use?

Based on its platform, processor and IPS display, the Huawei MediaPad warrants a closer look before you splash out on a tablet this year.

Proves 7in tablets can have fun too

The Huawei Mediapad runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb out of the box, with an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) said to be coming. However, with no ICS on the tablet at launch some customers will no doubt be put off.

Huawei MediaPad 7in review

Huawei's handbag-size tablet is a snappy, semi-affordable device, but its allure is hampered by a slew of tiny flaws.

Solid utilitarian design, dual-core processor, 3G connectivity

Terrible camera, mediocre battery, doesn't charge via USB

Huawei's MediaPad 7in is a solid yet uninspiring tablet. Its sturdy aluminium body, 3G connectivity and pre-installed office software make it ideal for business use on the go. However, a lack of Ice Cream Sandwich combined with a mediocre battery may...

Huawei MediaPad review

For reasons that may only be known to those who stalk Amazon's upper echelons, the Kindle Fire still hasn't made its way to the UK. Seeing as it has sold like hotcakes in the US, one might have assumed that us Brits would be getting a slice of the...

Gorgeous design, Striking screen, Powerful internal hardware, 3G connectivity

High price, Low internal storage

The MediaPad is one of the most impressive Android 7-inch tablets we’ve seen so far, but a lower retail price would have made it a more attractive purchase

Consumer review (productreview.com.au)

Good at the basics.

This review is actually for the MediaPad 7 LITE. It's almost the same as the MediaPad 7 except it has a lower resolution screen (1024x600) and a less powerful processor. First, the bad: The interface isn't buttery smooth like higher end tablets. And...

Feels well made, is well featured and not expensive.

Battery life could be better.
