Review Update Lenovo G505s-20255 Notebook

Wasted potential. An affordable multimedia laptop featuring a quad-core APU, 16 GB of RAM and Crossfire graphics - that sounds almost too good to be true. In fact, Lenovo's G505s looks like a virtually unrivaled price-performance bundle on paper, but...

24 month warranty; Generous working memory; Speedy system start; Low noise development

Viewing angle dependent TN screen; Middling casing quality; Extreme CPU throttling; Virtually no performance gain through dual-graphics; High power consumption

Among the direct contenders, we find Toshiba's Satellite C855, Acer's Aspire V5-573G, HP's Pavilion g6-2253sg and HP's Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b004sg.

Review Lenovo G505s-20255 Notebook

Caught in the middle. Lenovo chose AMD APU's Richland generation for the new G505s series. In addition, there is also a dedicated Radeon GPU in the notebooks so that the two graphic cores are working in a Crossfire connection. It sounds like Lenovo is...

24-month warranty ; Very little noise ; Nice harddrive

Low contract screen ; For Lenovo standards it contains a bad keyboard ; Gaming performance is limited despite dual graphics

A better display and a better keyboard

Lenovo G505s review

You're not going to get anything fancy for that sort of price, but the G505s gets all the basics right. The laptop's case is made out of plastic, but it has a smart matte-black finish and feels sturdy enough to withstand the occasional bump in a...

The limited battery life is disappointing, but that's not a fatal flaw since a large laptop like the G505s isn't going to spend a lot of time out and about anyway. Other features, such as performance, screen quality and the comfortable keyboard, are...

Lenovo Ideapad G505s Review

The Lenovo Ideapad G505s is a great laptop from Lenovo and while we don't have any real complaints about the design and build quality (other than the lack of a touch-screen), we feel that it's let down by its poor battery performance and easily...

Lenovo's trademark ergonomics ; High graphics performance

Only 300GB HDD space ; No touch screen ; High price

Flimsy+terrible keyboard layout

Just Don't Buy it. I wish i had went with an Acer or Asus or anything other than this Piece of ****

Got it for $500 (although i feel it's worth less than this) ; Hasnt crashed on me yet.... had it more than 2 years now

Flimsy, feels like i could break it in half with little force, and it not like it light weight or anything to justify such flimsiness ; And the KEYBOARD. don't get me stated on the **#$&@! keyboard ; Every key i push feels like im caving the frame into...

Decent computer, but pixels died

About a month after receiving it, clusters of bad pixels started appearing. Lenovo told me I damaged the screen and wants $400 to fix it. So much for factory warranties.

good price. fast enough

screen went bad almost immediately
