Lenovo G580 review

There is no glory in being basic or entry-level when it comes to laptops. Yet, for many of us, all the computer that's needed is something that spends most of its time in one place and handles Web browsing, social networking, e-mail, word processing,...

The Lenovo G580 provides good processing performance for the money; it boots quickly; it has a full keyboard with number pad and an optical drive; and its speakers and Webcam perform well.

The G580 is thick and heavy. Battery life is less than 4 hours. Navigating Windows 8 with the touch pad takes some practice. There was no Bluetooth in the version we reviewed.

For basics on a budget, the Lenovo G580 gets the job done. Just don't skimp on the configuration.

Lenovo G580

With its class-leading performance and admirable feature set, the Lenovo G580 is an excellent value for under $500.

Affordable. Solid performance. Fantastic keyboard. Removable battery.

Chassis smudges easily. Some bloatware.

Lenovo G580 Review

This Lenovo budget notebook offers some impressive specs in a deceptively unimpressive wrapper. Keep reading to find out why we like this laptop.

Solid Specs ; Comfortable Keyboard ; Affordable

Bulky Design ; Questionable Durability ; Limited Battery Life ; The Lenovo G580 is a hulking giant with surprising grace. Its bulky design is offset by its strong performance and quality keyboard.

Review Lenovo IdeaPad G580 Notebook

Energy inefficient. Lenovo offers a simple office notebook with a Pentium dual-core processor for 339 Euro (~$425). The operating system must be chosen for there is none. Our test will show whether Lenovo delivers a cheap office notebook or a weak...

Good interfaces, Quiet, USB 3.0, 24-month warranty, The notebook has two USB 3.0 ports and good input devices. In addition, the notebook works very quietly most of the time. We also like the 24-month warranty

Glossy-Display, Fast-Ethernet only, Modest battery life, Better battery life. The Sony notebook proves that better runtimes are possible

A breath of fresh air. ArenaNet believes it can dethrone World of Warcraft with new - and sometimes unconventional - changes to the MMO genre. Can a company made of ex-Blizzard employees strike gold with a subscription-free MMO? We test the game with a...
