Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 10 Review: Neither Here nor There

In its attempt to create new touch-friendly shapes for Windows 8, Lenovo might have lost sight of what's really important in a portable computer.

Small and relatively light Excellent construction quality Unique design makes Windows 8 easier to use with touch gestures

Disappointing performance Limited expansion and connectivity Expensive

The Lenovo Flex 10 might be an entry-level device, but it isn't cheap. For the same amount of money, you could get a far more powerful notebook, although you would have to give up the touchscreen and swivel feature. Given a choice between performance...

Weakling

I should have known better.

A good design if it had functioned well

There are those I imagine that like windows 8.1. I did not. I would consider Windows 10 for this IF it had some processing power. It is not enough. Reaction time is slow and opening pages applications and the like is equally slow

Likeable Compact Convertible Touch Notebook With Real Limitations

The Newegg captions describe this notebook as having an Intel Celeron N2810 (2.0GHz) processor. However, when you open the "Specifications" tab in the "Quick Info" category, it states that the processor is an N2807 (1.58GHz). Windows 8.1 Control Panel...

Sharp display, colors look good, attractive small form factor, light weight, thin, makes for a very portable notebook you will want to take with you. I got this to replace a seven inch tablet, and have a more readable display screen. I also wanted to...

Some apps and programs start very slowly, almost certainly because this notebook only has 2GB of RAM memory. I didn't run any actual time tests, but the battery charge doesn't seem to last very long. You will probably want to check into some alternate...

Lenovo Flex 10 (59RF1520)

will get a lenovo flex 14 or 15 when I need something bigger and faster. happy with lenovo's design and budget price. beats acer at this time

just got this today and been playing with it. chose this over an acer aspire switch. I went with the lenovo due to a little more horsepower from the celeron and better keyboard. I remember I had an aspire in the past and the keyboard was abysmal ; It's...

hard drive slow but at this price range it is expected ; a lot of bloatware to remove, but all the big companies do this. if you know the process of what you want to get ride of it, it is an easy chore ; mcaffee has to go. it is a dinosaur and I prefer...

Worst computer I've ever had

I was going to return it but I was working like 70 hours a week and the deadline got past me. So now I'm stuck with this garbage. (I understand this is my fault, but I'm stuck with garbage all the same.) I mean seriously I Just. Want. To. Watch....

Nothing. I guess it's neat that it has a touch screen but it doesn't even work most of the time because the computer is frozen

Slow. So, so slow. Can barely handle Netflix. Speakers are very quiet. My phone is louder than this laptop. Freezes all the time. I can't actually use it to surf the web, video chat, or anything. It just keeps freezing up. I just use it for Netflix...

Lenovo Flex 10 (59420879)

I got this as a replacement for my Eee PC 900A netbook. Overall I'm pleased with the performance upgrade and the ease of the Linux installation. I'm able to play Minecraft and Startbound pretty smoothly (on Linux). However the wifi, battery life and...

Nice netbook-like form factor ; A good amount of storage ; Was able to shrink windows partition and install Ubuntu without any problems. (note older flex 10 models had issues installing Linux due to 32-bit uefi. This model has a 64-bit uefi) ; Hardware...

Price is hiring than other touchbooks ; The wifi doesn't support 5ghz spectrum.(BIGGEST disappointment) ; WARNING!!! CPU is **NOT** a Celeron N2810@2ghz like the listing states, it is a Celeron N2807@1.6ghz ; Very slow performance. Windows 8.1 is...

I love that this unit has a touch screen and works both as a laptop and a tablet. The price was right. Only complaint is battery life.
