Lenovo G70-80 80FF00H0GE Notebook Review

Desk worker. Lenovo's G70-80 is an inexpensive office device for your desk. The notebook does not set any performance records, but it is sufficient in practice. There are no major complaints for a price of 400 Euros (~$435).

hardly gets warm, quiet operation, 2-year warranty, a lot of storage, maintenance hatch

no recovery DVD

The Lenovo G70-80 is designed for users that need a 17.3-inch notebook for their desk at home. The performance is sufficient in practice. Our configuration of the G70 leaves a better impression than comparable rivals with Braswell processors. The...

A big disappointment

Our old 15” laptop is getting long in the tooth. It has only 1-Gb of RAM, 256-GB HD, and an old Core Duo processor. It also lacks a numeric keypad, the touch pad can't be disabled, and I'd prefer a larger screen. This laptop was on sale at a great...

Large screen, large HD, large RAM, ability to disable touch pad, great price!

RJ-45LAN connector jack, all jacks on sides, intermittent keyboard, worthless manuals.

Nice Laptop for the Money

Did I mention this thing was big? Because I've gotten spoiled over the speed of SSD drives before I ever even booted this unit I used Acronis True Image to take an out of the box, factory image, then installed my 250GB SSD. Yes, it's 1/4 the size, but...

This thing is big! However, big means lots of screen real estate, and a full keyboard; this includes a dedicated 10-key. With an Intel i7 and 8GB of RAM, this should easily churn through anything you need, short of real gaming. Three USB ports is...

This thing is big! I wouldn't even really call this a laptop. It's size really puts in the DTR (DeskTop Replacement) category. If you need something portable because you travel, this isn't the unit for you. This isn't so much a con since it isn't a...

Excellent everyday workhorse

I was in the market for an i5 processor, 15 inch laptop with an optical drive and all necessary ports; basically a step down from my 8 year old gaming laptop. I do not have a desk top so I needed it to do an array of functions. I bought this Lenovo as...

Lightweight, considering the size All necessary ports, optical drive Fast start-up Plastic cover doesn't leave fingerprints

17 in was just too big for my preferences No backlight keyboard (matters to some) Webcam is very basic

Requesting a replacement machine, we'll see if it's any better.

Lenovo G70-80

I bought it to replace my Dell, I was going to buy a new Dell, but the same Lenovo laptop was £100 cheaper and I am very happy with it.

The touch pads a very quick, I find it easier to use a mouse.
