Review Lenovo IdeaPad S400 Notebook

Virtually an ultrabook. Members of the slim and affordable IdeaPa

Thin, lightweight and handy; 24 month warranty; Always runs quietly; Low consumption; Good application performance

Fast Ethernet only; Contrast-poor, dark screen; Four GB RAM maximum; Low-capacity battery (32Wh) - short battery life

Both mentioned laptops: Acer Aspire V5-531 and Acer Aspire V5-571G. For want of alternatives, we would also count conventional 14 inch laptops, such as the entry-level models Dell Vostro 3460, Fujitsu LifeBook LH531 and Medion Akoya E4212, to the...

Lenovo Ideapad S400 Review

Lenovo Ideapad S400 laptop has 2nd Generation Intel Core i3 processor, 2GB RAM and 1GB of dedicated graphics. It is priced at 27000INR.

Sleek and Lightweight ; Dedicated graphics (1GB) ; Nice speaker sound

Poor battery backup ; Sloppy touchpad response ; No optical drive

The laptop will feel under powered if you work on pro-development and editing software. However it’s pricing gives it a turnaround if it is to be used for normal home use. It will run HD videos smoothly and has good output from speakers. An...

Pretty good if on sale

Was for my girlfriend, she's happy so I'm happy.

Compact and portable ; Good value when on sale ; Decent performance for basic tasks like browsing & watching videos

The only con so far would be that the screen wobbles a lot when you use it for touch, pretty much have to have one hand holding the back of it while the other touches the screen. From what I can tell there's no way to tighten it and it's just due to...

Great for what it is.

I did have some problems with the touch screen of the mine when i bought it at first it would just some times not respond then it got to the point where it would never respond. I called lenova support and ended up sending it in and got it back in about...

For the price its hard to find a better unit that has all of the features included in this laptop. Having both a I3 and a touch screen in one inexpensive package was great and then finding it in a light weight 14" laptop was even better for me...

The battery life on it leaves a little to be desired but i still usually get about 2 and half to 3 hours depending on what i'm doing. It is lacking a CD drive as well which in the current digital age we live isn't all that big a deal just thought it...

Better than I thought

Great deal, bought it for 350 and no real qualms about it.

The laptop itself is really nice. The touch screen is very responsive and I haven't run into any bugs with the touch function. It's very light and easy to carry around. It's pretty fast for a tiny laptop like this, and can even run a few games (but on...

Like another user said, the soft keys of the keyboard make it somewhat difficult to type correctly. I miss a key here and there sometimes, but that might just be me ; The windows 8.1 update took HOURS to complete, that was the one frustrating thing...

Good Value

It is very light and slim, like an ultrabook. At $400, you will not find anything near close to the weight and slimness of this one. Only complaint I have is the battery life.
