Lenovo Y50-70

The current object of our gaming affection is the 15.6-inch Y50 Touch , a mid-size laptop that doesn't look too hideously gamer-like, and combines a touchscreen with a mainstream Nvidia GeForce GTX 860M graphics card, making it work for both gaming and...

The Lenovo Y50 Touch 4K packs in features, including a mainstream graphics card, touchscreen, and full 4K resolution.

The 4K display looks much better than its dull 1080p predecessor, but the mid-level GPU means you won't actually be playing many games at 4K resolution.

One of our favorite gaming laptops get a sharp 4K display that will make all kinds of content look better, although it's a bit of a tease, as you can't actually crank most games up to that resolution.

Lenovo Y50 Touch 4K review

Lenovo, best known for its business-friendly ThinkPads and transforming Yoga hybrids, is actually one of the best-kept secrets in PC gaming. The company makes some excellent gaming laptops and mid-price gaming desktops.

Lenovo Y50 gaming laptop review: Great performance spoiled by a sub-par display

A strong CPU and GPU don't make up for a crummy LCD.

Strong price-to-performance ratio ; Attractively thin brushed-aluminum enclosure ; Good-quality speakers

Abysmal display with limited viewing angles ; Flimsy, awkwardly located trackpad ; Mushy keyboard

The Lenovo Y50 is a bargain among gaming laptops—provided you can tolerate its subpar display, keyboard, and trackpad.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y50-70 (GTX 960M, FHD) Notebook Review

Lenovo created a balanced bundle. Recently, the Y50-70 proved to be a good entry into the mobile gaming world. Now, the manufacturer put even more performance into the slim case and improved the bundle. The most important change: Lenovo replaced the...

design, system and gaming performance, material of the lid, maintenance, solid battery life

brightness distribution and brightness, performance on battery

Lenovo's bundle can still be called solid. An elegant and fancy design envelops the powerful hardware inside, which can easily handle everyday multimedia and gaming. Instead of a TN panel, the IPS technology is now used. Nevertheless, the brightness is...

Lenovo Y50-70 (GTX 960M, 4K) Notebook Review

Model upgrade. Despite its slim build, there is plenty of computing power in Lenovo's gaming laptop. The combination of powerful hardware, 4K screen, and decent connectivity is to make potential buyers curious.

4K IPS screen, Slim casing, Decent gaming performance, Swift solid state drive

No maintenance cover, Glare-type screen, Inactive CPU Turbo in multi-thread applications

Lenovo's Y50-70 59441231 is a 15.6-inch gaming laptop. The installed processor has more than enough computing power for all common application scenarios. The GeForce GTX 960M graphics core renders all current games smoothly. It also produces slightly...

Lenovo Y50 Review

Lenovo hopes to keep its budget-gaming crown with the Y50.

Portable chassis design ; Excellent performance ; Solid battery life

Keys lack feedback ; Subpar display ; Slow HDD ; The Lenovo Y50’s strong performance and slimmer chassis design make it one of the better affordable gaming laptops on the market, but the device’s subpar display is easily outclassed by competitors.

Lenovo Y50-70 Touch Slim Gaming Notebook Review

The Y50-70 extends Lenovo's touchscreen emphasis to the mobile gaming crowd. But a entertainment-oriented notebook still has to game. We run this one through its paces to determine if the compact form factor is still packed with ample performance.

Lenovo’s P/N 59420895 Y50-70 Touch combines somewhat high-end gaming capability with a slim chassis and competitive battery life. The touch screen might be useful for some users, as are Lenovo-specific features such as gesture control

Lenovo’s P/N 59420895 Y50-70 Touch is slightly heavy for its size, or perhaps a slightly undersized battery for its weight. Better internal configurations (such as dual-channel memory) are now available in the same chassis for slightly less money

Gamers looking for portability and value should view P/N 59420895 as a starting point, examining the various configuration options of alternative Y50-70 models before making any final purchase decision.

Lenovo Y50 review

Lenovo's latest gaming laptop: lightweight in more ways than one

Excellent, unique design ; Fantastic value ; Pleasant speakers

Dreadful screen ; Inconsistent game performance ; Limited configurations ; Short battery life

Scores in depth There's no lack of options if you are looking for a 15-inch gaming laptop. Between the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro getting a new gorgeous 3K screen and newer, better packages like the Gigabyte P35W, this mid-size range of gaming machines gets...
