Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E545

The Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E545 is a well-built desktop-replacement laptop that delivers solid entry-level performance for less than $500.

Affordable. Solid build quality. Good productivity and multimedia performance.

Middling battery life. Smallish hard drive. Does not display 1080p.

Conclusion The Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E545 brings a premium look and feel without a premium price. Its AMD A6 processor is well-suited to running basic home office and light multimedia apps, but don't count on its Radeon GPU to run graphics-heavy games...

Review Update Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E545-20B2000PGE Notebook

No news. The ThinkPad Edge E545 wants to be a device for private and business use. Apart from a big storage capacity, the notebook features a matte display, an AMD quad-core processor, and a good keyboard. These are all signs of an attractive device...

good system performance, gaming capable, easy to maintain, three USB-3.0 interfaces, good keyboard, always quiet, decent battery life, The good input devices and the low system noise

display with a very low contrast, only 12 months warranty, Definitely a display with a higher contrast

Solid Laptop

Awesome Laptop. I installed a larger HDD, and a 16gb ram upgrade. Running Ubuntu and OS 7 64bit ultimate. Runs like a champ

nothing really, but I do prefer my functions keys separate and on there own. other then that no issues

Works like a champ

Different onboard mouse pointer choices, decent overall look, decent screen for the resolution, responsive OS

Screen resolution is a bit low for the standard

Lenovo

If your looking for a 8 or 8.1 it might be a pain to upgrade yourself. This is a great laptop for the price. it is not perfect and a little on the slower side but I am rating it for what it is, and that is a sub $500 laptop.

Windows 7 pro (with free optional) upgrade to Windows 8 Pro ; Great price for a new laptop ; Decent Build quality ; Decent CPU, Ram, hard drive, screen ; Good Packaging ; Above average build quality for a machine in this price point

Trackpad (and the hidden left and right click buttons that are part of it) can be finicky ; Some bloatware

A Good Solid Laptop

I installed Linux Mint 17.1 Cinnamon as soon as I received the laptop. I also installed a spare 4GB ram stick I had from my old laptop. So, a total memory of 8GB, but there is a caveat. (1) The NIC that came with my laptop didn't work out of the box...
