Lenovo Yoga Book C930 Review: An expensive experiment

The Yoga Book C930 is an engineering marvel, and swapping its keys for an e-ink display is groundbreaking. But the addition of a drawing pad and (limited) e-reader functionality don't necessarily make up for a weaker typing experience. If you can touch...

Solid build quality ; Good battery life ; Keyboard is fine for short bursts of typing ; Flexibility for drawing and e-reading is good for trips

Sluggish performance ; Bezel-heavy design showing its age in 2018 ; Touchscreen keyboard isn't great for hammering out long documents

It's a truth universally acknowledged that companies will charge inflated prices for new technology. Sometimes it's for prestige, and sometimes it's just to make back all that R&D cash. That doesn't mean I can't rail against the industry expecting...

The half-E Ink Lenovo Yoga Book C930 may be the most unusual laptop of the year

With one standard display and a second E Ink one with an on-screen keyboard, this slim folding 2-in-1 takes a little getting used to.

The revamped Yoga Book improves on the original version, with a better typing experience and more powerful hardware. The small size is great for travelling.

Using an E Ink keyboard and touchpad full time is never going to be as good as the real thing. The E Ink second screen bizarrely can't read Kindle e-books. Battery life is short for a highly portable laptop.

The Yoga Book C930 is an adventurous, risk-taking laptop that skirts the conventional thinking on portable computers. The result is interesting, sometimes fun, but often frustrating.

Lenovo Yoga Book C930 review: two screens and lots of compromises

Easy to love, hard to live with.

Thin and light ; Fast enough processor ; Full Windows 10 ; USB-C

E Ink screen software is slow and buggy ; Not comfortable for long typing sessions ; No headphone jack ; Too expensive

For a thousand bucks, though, there are much better and more versatile options. They won’t wow strangers at a coffee shop, but they will let you get your work done without getting in your way.

Lenovo Yoga Book C930

The Lenovo Yoga Book C930 offers a host of innovations in an ultrathin chassis, but it's hamstrung by older components.

Incredibly thin, light and versatile design; Precision Pen delivers excellent writing experience; Vibrant display

Expensive; Subpar battery life; Not for touch typists

Lenovo Yoga Book C930 Review

The touch activated dual-display Yoga Book C930 is a “one a kind” computing device that cannot be categorized under any existing market segment...

High-end build quality, beautifully designed ; Ultra-thin and ultra-compact clamshell chassis, excellent for traveling ; Great Full Windows 10 performance for such a tiny clamshell form factor ; Two USB-C ports with charging ; Fantastic handwriting and...

Slow charging (2 hours) ; No audio jack ; More RAM would be better ; Keyboard is fine for short burst of typing, not great for long sessions ; Lack of popular ebook formats (only PDF support for now, no Mobi and EPUB support)

Lenovo Yoga Book C930 (i5-7Y54, LTE, E-Ink) Convertible Review

3-in-1 convertible. The new Yoga Book has an E-Ink display instead of a keyboard and can be considered a combination of a laptop, a tablet and an e-reader. On top of that, you can also digitalize text and drawings with this all-rounder. The device is...

3 in 1: laptop, tablet & e-reader ; significantly more powerful than its predecessor ; very good display ; LTE ; decent SSD ; no loss in performance in battery mode ; very small and light ; E-Ink input options: pen, touch, keyboard ; silent and...

limited port selection ; no headphone jack ; battery runtime is worse than that of its predecessor ; no keyboard backlighting ; performance drops under strong load ; microSD slot must be opened with a pin ; bad camera ; touchpad is too small

The new Yoga Book features an E-Ink display that makes it very unique. Its biggest advantage is its versatility. It is extremely small and light and can be used for drawing on, as a notebook or tablet or as an e-reader. But of course this flexibility...

Lenovo Yoga Book C930 Review

We had some reservations about the Lenovo Yoga Book last year when we reviewed it, as the ambitious hybrid tablet introduced some rather intriguing concepts – most notably, ditching the classic physical keyboard for a razor-thin, touch-sensitive one....

Thin and light design ; Excellent battery life ; Powerful enough to handle 4K video editing ; More utility thanks to e-ink display

Keyboard still requires a lot of practice & patience ; No backlighting with e-ink display ; microSD slot can’t be accessed easily ; E-ink display doesn’t support e-book formats

Lenovo's Dual-Screen Yoga Book Is Painfully Close to a Breakthrough

Laptops haven't changed much since 2012. Sure, they're a bit sleeker, more powerful, and have slightly better battery lives. But after Microsoft conjured up the original Surface with its kickstand and detachable keyboard in 2012, it's largely been five...

Gorgeous, minimalist design, built-in fingerprint reader, much more powerful than before.

Lenovo Yoga Book C930 Review | Trusted Reviews

A welcome upgrade to the original Yoga Book

A clear step forward on the first Yoga Book ; Innovative design ; e-Ink display screams potential

Buggy software ; Very expensive for what you get ; Still feels like a prototype

The Yoga Book C930 is a clear step forward on the first-generation model. It features better specifications and a nifty new e-Ink keyboard/secondary display that has oodles of potential. But sadly software bugs and a ridiculously high asking price stop...
