Medion Akoya Mini E1210 review

Medion's Akoya Mini E1210 is a quintessentially good value netbook

Great value ; Good storage ; Bundled software

Battery life ; Poor display

It's not the best netbook around, but it's cheap and useful, so deserves to be considered

Medion Akoya E1210 notebook

Back in July we spotted a Medion Akoya E1210 languishing in an Aldi showcase and snapped a few shots for you. Now that the Akoya E1201 has become available in the UK, we bring you the lowdown in full. But can the E1210 offering anything that any of the...

Excellent screen, mostly great keyboard, plenty of connections, draft n Wi-Fi

Battery life, no Bluetooth, no power saving shortcut, price creeping up

If you are looking for a netbook then it is difficult to avoid those based on the MSI Wind and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. In terms of value for money, you certainly get a lot. The screen and keyboard are the real differentiators here as many...

When is an MSI Wind not an MSI Wind? When it's re-branded as a Medion netbook that you can pick up at Aldi…

A cut price MSI Wind is no bad thing, but limited options and poor battery life stop it blowing up a storm

Medion AkoyaNetbook E1210

Unlike most Medion kit that is sold through Aldi where if you are not queuing on the day they go on sale before the store opens you don't get one this tiny notebook is one of two currently being sold by Sainsbury's both online and in their larger stores.

This is the third Netbook I have reviewed both the others (Acer and Asus) were running Linux this however runs Windows XP Home. It is 25.5x17.5x3.5cm and weights only 1130grams. It is totally black apart from the area surrounding the keyboard that is...

Aldi Provides Netbook For All

What is the difference between the Asus EEE PC, MSI Wind, Acer Aspire One, and the Medion Akoya Mini? Nothing really - they are all netbooks designed to give you access to the Internet and provide you with core computing functions like word processing....

Small form factor; Specifications; Easy-to-use keyboard; Bright screen; Wi-Fi; USB Bluetooth dongle; Attractive price

Small trackpad; Abysmal battery life

Excellent

Love this little computer, I have been using it inbetween travelling as a jukebox hooked up to our sound system. Our main computer was recently sent away for repair, so am using the E1210 as main computer until other repaired. Couldn't be happier with...

Small, easy to use, WiFi works well. Great for travelling. Has everything you need loaded onto the computer. Doesn't use heaps of power, we use it constantly in our motorhome when travelling and we only have solar power.
