MSI A6200 15.6in laptop

MSI A6200 review: A basic laptop for users who are on a budget

Decent performance and battery life ; HDMI ; Large hard drive

Chassis a little creaky ; Touchpad could be better

The MSI A6200 offers decent performance and battery life in a sub-$600 package. It's a good everyday laptop for a home user or student, but for a little more money you could get yourself a better-performing Core i3-based model.

OWNED ALMOST A YEAR

All and all, great little unit for the money. Was definitely the best deal at the time. Biggest issue was the wireless going out.

Great price for a capable unit. Quick and does what it is made to do

The wireless went out after a couple of months. Just decided to use a cheap USB wireless adapter. Works fine. May decide to fix it later ; The HDD is slow, I just ordered an SSD as they have come down in price ; only 4 gigs of RAM, I purchased 8 gigs...

Pretty good

none. Pretty decent laptop at a good price.

Good laptop for the price, runs smoothly haven't had much of a problem with this laptop

I'm not a big fan of the stripes but thats a personal problem. The material on the trackpad makes it difficult to use the mousepad effectively

Nice refurb

I should have bought two... Dang...

The PRICE! Got it as a Shell Shocker, plus a $20 rebate. I'm glad I rolled the dice on this one. Nice display, soft touch keyboard. Very capable for general needs

WiFi is not turned on out of the box; a couple keystrokes handles that for ya. Speakers are marginal, but they work

A Great & Pleasant Surprise

UPS 2nd Day Air is a RIP-OFF! Was promised by Christmas, but never showed up. Took it a week to get here. I was pretty upset, but luckily the notebook is so nice, that I calmed down. Save your money and just use the FREE SHIPPING. You will get it just...

Seems like a new unit. Never used. Looks great and runs well. Has a great display and good WiFi. Once I made recovery software, I bumped the RAM to 8 GB, put in a 500GB/7200RPM hard drive and reloaded it from scratch. Runs like a race-horse. Core i3 is...

None at this price point. For the price of a 'value unit', you can have a pretty good machine right out of the box. And it looks great as well, and not over-done with too much silver trim or ugly case designs

A good low-budget laptop:

Overall, I am happy with this laptop and the only thing that I took an egg off for is the subpar speakers. That's really a shame as other than that, this laptop is solid - especially for the price.

Weight, number pad, CPU type, 4GB of RAM and easily removed bloatware

Speakers are worthless. Can't hear them even at full volume ; Invest in headphones or an external speaker ; Screen resolution isn't great. Glossy screen type ; Case itself is a fingerprint magnet

Great Laptop

I bought this laptop, an extra 8gig of Kingston memory and an 240gig OCZ SSD Hard Drive and I am out a total of $767. You can't buy a laptop like this with those specs anywhere for under $1200. I bough it here and now I NewEgg

Great! I bought 2 of these and could not be happier

none - people that did not buy the laptop here at NewEgg make poor reviews

Small bump at start, but smoothed out.

Docked 1 egg for the blue screen, normally would be bad. After the reformat it has been working perfect. Haven't tested battery life yet. Overall its a very nice machine the cost.

Newegg got it to me in 2 days ; Was in very good condition when arrived, could hardly tell it was recertified ; Fast and runs cool. Idles around 30C, Prime95 stress maxed around 60C

Blue screened on first boot, which was probably why it was sent back. Not too much trouble since I was planning on reformatting and putting my own licence of Win7 Pro on it ; Intel HD graphics are a little weak, but knew that going in

Was great.. Now it's dead.

Great machine for all your basic needs until the build quality gets the best of it. I wish MSI had put a few less plastic parts on this machine. It worked great until now.

Plenty of storage. Plenty of RAM. i5 provides plenty of power to run Win7 and all your apps with no problems. Battery life is sufficient for this size machine and the screen quality and brightness is very nice

Always ran very hot. i5 graphics aren't recognized by a lot of the newer games out today ; Battery started to fail (not charging) about two months ago ; DC jack just bit the dust. After about a year of continuous use the DC jack is broken. Laptop no...
