MSI GS43VR 7RE (i7-7700HQ, GTX 1060) Laptop Review

Potent performer. The GS43VR is back and pretty much the same it was the year before. Users who can look past the excruciatingly loud fan noise will find one of the most powerful 14-inch gaming notebooks currently available.

relatively cool palm rests and WASD keys when gaming ; mDP 1.2, HDMI 1.4, and Thunderbolt 3 ; excellent display quality and colors ; extreme performance for the size ; consistent gaming performance ; Dragon Center fan controls ; Killer 1535 WLAN...

very high CPU and GPU temperatures when under extreme loads ; no other updates other than the move to Kaby Lake ; only one display option; no 120 Hz, 5 ms, or G-Sync ; end-user servicing will automatically void warranty ; cannot maintain maximum CPU...

MSI GS43VR 7RE Phantom Pro full review

Is MSI's jack-of-all-trades portable gaming laptop worth buying?

Decent combo of size and power

An expensive compromise

This gaming laptop from MSI is much smaller than most of the range's other models, but it's still a jack of all trades and master of none.

A dainty, 14-inch gaming laptop weighing just 1.8KG. GS43VR 7RE Phantom Pro is armed with the Kaby Lake 7700HQ and NVIDIA's GTX 1060, making it ideal for 1080p gamers.

MSI GS43VR 7RE-061UK

- It's as fast as you'd expect. Everything loads fast. - The design is stylish, gamery and of a good quality feel. - The screen is great, especially using MSI software for different situations. - MSI software is actually useful, not pointless...

- It runs hot, so do all gaming laptops and it depends on the game. On mostly ultra settings it will run games beautifully around 75-90 degrees on the CPU and 80 area for GPU. Some games may squeeze 95 degrees CPU which is a bit toasty but when you...
