The very first thing you'll notice about the GT740is that it's a beast, a huge laptop that won't feel too comfortable on your actual lap unless you're some kind of gargantuan giant with a lap of steel.

Good performance ; Connectivity ; Accessories ; Design

Craftsmanship is slightly subpar ; Scratchy speaker – possibly because we reviewed a demo unit ; Battery life – probably because of the powerful hardware

As with the majority of MSI products, you are left with a why-the-heck-did-they-not-think-of-that-feeling and that is a shame, as the foundation is solid and all the basics are there.

BluRay drive is ROM only ... would like Sony's approach of R/W BluRay ... also, the side button on the drive is easily touched accidentally causing the drive to eject. Display colour balance is different from my previous laptop which caused a few...

Looks performance cant fault these aspects plays every game I throw at it sound is brilliant as is movie playback eco modes work well overall I am very pleased with my purchase

Could have done with windows 7 ultimate so you can use all the ram a full year of norton would have been nice also
