MSI GX720

The MSI GX720 is a decent media center laptop, with some sweet gaming performance thrown in.

Design lives up to gaming and luxury standards. Built-in ATSC TV tuner. BD-ROM bundled. Very good performance. Decent battery life for a desktop replacement laptop. Inexpensive.

Lacks retail presence. Improperly marketed as a gaming laptop.

MSI GX720

MSI is getting serious about its gaming series. In addition to its other models, the GX720 is ready and able to meet your performance needs. The GX720 offers the Penryn-based, 2.53GHz Intel Core Duo CPU. Overclockers will appreciate the Turbo Drive...

As for the 17-inch widescreen display, MSI has added the Eco Power Management System, which lets you adjust your power settings according to five preset modes: gaming, movie, presentation, office, and turbo battery. The Eco Power UI is convenient,...

MSI GX720 review

With the looks of a gaming machine, this is an affordable desktop replacement

Decent performance ; Bright and large screen ; Distinctive design

Poor keyboard

Not the best gaming machine out there, but as desktop replacements go, this is a decently-specced and stylish option

Very affordable. Good performance. Bundled mouse is reasonably good. Turbo mode lets you squeeze out more performance and value. 1680x1050 resolution screen.

Keyboard is squashed on the right-hand side. Air vent on right-hand side.

The GX720 does fine for a gaming laptop. While it doesn't pull the massive punch of its Dell XPS or Alienware competitors thanks to its lower spec graphics card, it comes in a lot cheaper and should cover most gaming needs.

Good design and build ; Good performance ; Audio and video clear and crisp ; Heaps of matching accessories ; Various Eco mode ; Turbo mode

Abysmal battery life ; Not really the best gaming notebook around

A good notebook for gamers who like to go on LAN parties. Page: 1 2 3 [4]

MSI GX720

It will game and perform better than you expected from reading the specs, a very good hardware combination. Screen is great feels like a 22' but easier to carry and makes it appropriate for games and business work, very happy with it

Basically everything but especially turbo, wifi range, speakers and the screen resolution

actually a few minor 'bads'; shift, ctrl, Fn all mixed up takes sime getting used to, dvd drive is inconvient and you will always accidently open it due to its placing, looks really bad once open due to the red rubbish, windows 7 pre-loaded is a...

MSI GX720

It's a good computer all in all, though it does not deserve it's title as a gamer computer.

Reasonable for the most games at the time of it's release. Speakers got great quality of laptop speakers to be

FN AND CTRL ARE NOT IN GAMER POSITIONS! CD/DVD drive to the left. Could have a few more USB port. Small battery for office use. Ventilates from the side (Would be positive, but since Laptop coolers only ventilate the bottom...)
