MSI X600

Discrete graphics ; Skinny for a 15.4 inch wide screen

CPU a little weak for a big screen

The MSI offers a terrific keyboard and excellent graphics in its class, but a big screen laptop combined with a single core processor makes for an anemic showing.

Review: MSI X600 Notebook

The X600 is one hell of a thin and light computer. If it weren't for a poorly positioned number pad, this notebook would be perfect.

MSI X-Slim X600 notebook

A slim and light 15.6in notebook for everyday computing

Slim chassis, light, full-sized keyboard with number pad, 4GB RAM

Touchpad is in an inconvenient position and affects typing, no ExpressCard slot

The MSI X-Slim X600 is a big but light notebook with a thin frame. It's a good all-round notebook with decent specifications, but its touchpad is in a position that can hamper typing.

MSI X600 notebook

The MSI X600 is the latest addition to the company's ultra-slim X-series, following on from the affordable X300 . With a larger 15.6-inch screen, the X600 isn't as small, but it's still impressively portable for such a large machine. MSI's X600 is an...

Stylish, well made, affordable and with a surprising amount of power

Battery life could be better

MSI’s X600 is an impressive laptop, packing a lot into its svelte lines. It may not offer the aluminium finish of Apple’s MacBook Pro, for instance, but it’s still robust and comfortable, and one of the most portable 16-inch machines we’ve seen. Add...

MSI X600 215UK MS-1691 review

With a maximum thickness of 25mm and a weight of less than 2.2kg the MSI X600 215UK MS-1691 is surprisingly portable for a 15.6in model. Toshiba's T130 may be smaller and lighter – but it's only a 13.3in model.

Sadly the slim profile means there’s no room for an optical drive, and unplugged runtime is disappointing considering the large battery pack. If your needs are more gaming oriented, the graphics power available in the MSI X600 215UK MS-1691 means that...

MSI X600-055UK review

But in the process of adding an extra 2in of diagonal screen space, the MSI X600-055UK is actually an altogether bulkier affair, finally tipping the scales at over 2.1kg. And in spite of MSI's ‘X-Slim' moniker, at 1in thick it's no slimmer than laptops...

The MSI X600-055UK is trying hard to style itself as a thin'n'light ultraportable, but its size, weight and actual performance are more in line with traditional 15in designs. It's quite a nippy design with plenty of storage but the premium price...
