MSI Wind U135 Review

The Wind U135 is the one of the newest netbooks from MSI in the 10-inch form-factor. Packed with the Intel Pine Trail platform this netbook promises increased battery life and performance compared to models still using the previous Intel Atom chipset....

Good design ; Capable touchpad with proper drivers ; Nice keyboard

Half the battery life of other Pine Trail netbooks ; Missing touchpad software out of the box

Review MSI Wind U135 Netbook

UpWind? The Wind models were counted to the pioneers of the unyie

Attractive design; Very good case stability; User-friendly keyboard; Very good viewing angle stability; Low case temperatures; Low price

Case susceptible for grime; Center of gravity too far back; Average VGA connection quality; Reflective display; Perpetual fan presence; Speakers' poor sound quality

As already so often: older netbooks with Intel's Atom N27/N280 processors and GMA 950 graphics. A current immediate opponent in terms of both looks and configuration, as well as the price: Asus Eee 1005p.

MSI Wind U135

MSI's latest netbook impresses us with a quality keyboard.

Excellent keyboard, Acceptable battery life, Some designs are quite striking

One button touch-pad, Black version looks pretty ordinary, Some system instability issues

MSI Wind U135 review

But the computer isn't without its issues. There are no access panels for upgrading the RAM or hard drive, and the touchpad lacks support for multitouch gestures

MSI Wind U135

With the number of MSI Wind netbooks coming out this year, it's a bit hard to track down which model is which. Just in the 10-inch category, there's the U160, the U130 and then this Wind U135.

MSI Wind U135 Netbook Review

We have been fans of MSI's Wind series of netbooks. They have consistently rivaled Asus' Eee PC range and HP's Mini line, and the competition has been good for the industry. MSI's Wind line has remained relatively consistent over the years, with the...

Nice Overall Design ; Great Value At $315 ; Nice Chiclet Keyboard ; Great Battery Life ; Ultra Quiet And Cool ; HD Playback Support ; Atom N450 CPU

Glossy Display ; Only 1GB of RAM ; No Optical Drive ; No Multi-Touch Trackpad ; Only A 5400RPM HDD ; No USB 3.0 Ports

In our SiSoftware Sandra tests, the MSI Wind U135 put up decent scores, largely thanks to the new Atom N450 and more advanced GMA 3150 GPU. Both of these are at the top of the class in the netbook realm (for now, anyway). The 5400RPM hard drive held...

This netbook might be great for portability, style and affordability, but does it perform?

Tell us in the comments area below what your favorite netbook is. Another year, another gaggle of netbooks; for 2010, expect to see a lot of netbooks using Intel’s new Pine Trail architecture, which moves the graphics processor and memory controller...

MSI Wind Millions Special Edition U135 netbook

MSI has released the Wind Millions Special Edition U135 to celebrate the sale of more than 1 million Wind netbooks worldwide. The MSI Wind Millions S...

Excellent keyboard, runs cool, vibrant screen, 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth, nice design

Balance is off, only 1GB of RAM, not easily upgradeable

MSI's Wind Millions Special Edition U135 is a netbook that looks good and is comfortable to use. It has a balance issue that we've seen in previous Wind netbooks, but we like the U135's build quality, design and features.

MSI Wind U135 review

With a new Atom at its heart, the new Wind U135 netbook packs in the features

Good usability ; Bright screen ; Well put together ; Portability ; Durable ; Large and responsive touchpad ; Great battery life ; 4-in-1 card reader ; Wi-Fi

Reflective bezel proves distracting ; Quickly attracts fingerprints and smears ; Touchpad too close to keyboard

This laptop has everything a netbook is expected to have, ticking all the right boxes. If you are looking for a new machine the MSI Wind U135 is worth considering.
