Don't Buy

Cheap Computer

The drivers for screen brightness, webcam, volume, wifi, etc are all run out of a program created by MSI, and doesn't respond to traditional techniques in changing it. This results in problems when the program crashes and you want to turn on your wifi...

Im writing this review from it right now

I am a graduate student and use it to carry around to class and for basic course stuff (writing papers, internet, excel, SPSS, PPT, etc). I really like it for these types of tasks. I would not buy this if you are going to need a lot of processing power...

Compact, quick start time, nice color, fair price, runs all the programs I need (MS Office, Adobe, internet, anti-virus, etc). Works well with Skype and recording low res video. The power supply is extremely small. The battery life is really about 5...

Lots of bloatware needs to be removed, that fan is a bit loud and is constantly on (but at least its working and keeping it cool), and it is a little slower than expected. I didn't really care for the MSIs task-bar thing, so i just uninstalled it....

MSI X370-205US

Really, for an inexpensive "ultraslim" notebook, which this seems to be trying to be, it's pretty sweet. Ultrabooks don't even let you change the battery though at times, let alone HD / Ram. So not being able to change those two without voiding...

Perfect size ; Slim and light ; Sexy look ; Wireless gets strong signal ; 8 cell battery. This thing runs as long, if not longer, than my AAO722, shows over 10 hours when idle and battery full ; Great netbook replacement ; Brazostweaker works well with...

Fan always on. Though it's not really loud, in a competely quiet room you can hear it. It's no louder than keyboard typing really. I've yet to find a way to lower the speed, tried bios settings (don't exist) and programs designed for this (Speedfan,...

Phenomenal laptop...if you know what you're doing

The functional laptop software configuration is as follows: Ubuntu 64 bit 11.10 (using LiveCD) Xorg-Edgers video drivers (These are the fastest most developed open-source drivers) combined with amdcccle (ATI/AMD Catalyst Control Center). OpenGL OpenJDK...

The laptop comes with vista installed... but runs SO MUCH BETTER with Ubuntu 11.10. I still am able to get ~7 hours of dimmed-screen battery life with wi-fi enabled. IMHO, this laptop is easily comparable to a newer power-efficient Lenovo, but RUNNING...

Under Ubuntu 11.10 I am unable to get the bluetooth connectivity figured out. Pressing the Fn+F9 (the bluetooth toggle combination) does nothing. All other controls seem to work ; I wish the LED screen had a higher refresh rate. with VSYNC on, the...

Perfectly Awesome!!!

I couldn't even find anything close to this at my local Fryes after instant and MIR discounts. I love you Newegg... I love you so much...

Awesome. Lighter than I expected. Faster than I expected. Much faster than my dual-core Intel Atom, almost as fast as my old Pentium dual-core desktop. And can run SC II and DAO II smoothly on low settings. Amazing bang for the buck. This is the...

The only wish I would ask for is if it was a smidge lighter but for this price, I'm not complaining

Perfect notebook

Bought this to replace a six year old Compaq laptop and am really pleased. Perfect size to tote around.

Perfect size and weight. I find a 13-14 inch display size perfect for my 70 year old eyes. The 4 gig of RAM and 500 GB hard drive are more than adequate for my needs. This is my first Windows 7 computer and thus far I am thoroughly delighted. Great...

Most of the heat from this very conveniently sized laptop notebook exits out at the lower left front corner which can get a little uncomfortable. Venting to the sides or rear would be a nice improvement

It is a good latop

It is light. The battary life is very good. I removed all the background progrmas in this lap top, and it runs well. I loard blue ray movies and it plays. I can watch streaming blueray movies using Total media theatre 9.0. No issues

Nothing much. The fan is little loud

Great ultra-thin laptop.

For the price its a win-win laptop. I looked at the other higher price ultra thin laptops and for the price this one can't be beat. The texture of the laptop itself is amazing quality for this price point.

Small form factor with great battery and good possessing power. windows 7 runs with no problems at all. The screen looks great. Great price for specs. 7200 RPM hard drive loads quick

speakers have a small sound but its a small laptop

Review

Purchased in September 2011. I am an art college student, but also an avid gamer so I need something to write/research for papers but also something to run my games and to draw with. Have had none of the problems mentioned in the previous reviews....

Looks great, has very little bloatware, is lightweight, perfect for most anything. Don't have to pay alot for this great computer and has a nice screen size without being a huge laptop. Awesome battery life

Isn't as fast as I was expecting for running flash games, although runs good for the Sims 3 which takes a lot of graphic/processor power

Subpar product......

None

Machine has not worked well since it was opened. Freezes up with simple internet searches right out of the box. cooling fan always runs even when you are not doing anything. Control catalyst errors even after most recent updates. Still have not...
